I'm trying to plan a date outfit for Friday. If anyone has any suggestions, we're going to a higher end southern cuisine place that's intimate/cozy. It used to be a B&B if that helps. Weather should be nice in the mid-60s.
I got all of my Christmas decorations up and am LOVING them. They may stay up the entire month of January. I can do what I want.
My go-to for dinner these days is skinny jeans, an off the shoulder black sweater, and boots. It doesn't sounds like you're in boot weather yet, though (although if you're already FL-acclimated, maybe mid-60's IS boot weather now!).
chalupa, to my point to bully, yes, mid-60s is totally boot weather in my world these days.
It's 61 today and I'm wearings leggings (yep, leggings are pants people), a thin long sleeve white sweater and a fuzzy vest. When I go out I'll put on my tall Frye boots. Yep. Florida girl already.
I think skinny jeans, a cute longer-sleeved top (or cute top with a cardigan over it), and boots or heels would look nice kaneen. I will unashamedly wear my coat in the evenings so that I can wear a less-warm cute top on a date. My coat is kinda dressy, so that helps.
I sent the guy I was dating a message Monday, just telling him I was grateful that he came into my life, whatever the reason. He responded last night, saying something similar and thanking me for my message, saying it meant a lot and calling himself dumb. I responded. I expect nothing (though of course I'm human and have hopes), but I'm glad I sent the messages.
Texting with the pastor who messaged me on Match, which is interesting. I told him that I wear a bullet-resistant vest at work. Let's see how much that freaked him out. But he told me he had an active shooter prep meeting, so I figured it was in bounds!
It's raining today and I don't have a hooded jacket. Ugh. Need to remember the waterproof mascara and hope I don't have to be outside *too* much today.
I just talked to my boss. SHE HASN'T SUBMITTED MY TERMINATION YET. Uhhh, I am down to just about 48 hours (OK, slightly longer. I agreed to do an interview at 4pm on Friday, lol). She asked me if I was sure I wanted to leave. I have someone else expecting me to show up on Monday morning for orientation, so yes. It's time.
lol...you Florida people kill me with that "cold" weather
Ha. As I was typing my suggestion, I was thinking "hmm...that's what *I'd* wear so I'm guessing kaneen would freeze but let's see." Should have gone with my first guess

I just found out a VP in my area is getting laid off. My boss is picking up two of her clients, which would cascade down to myself and my two team members. She's asking for suggestions on how to restructure our team. I'm trying to decide if I should volunteer for another client, as I'm 3-5 hours away from them. Granted, I would fly but the rest of the team is only 30-120 minutes, depending on the client.
While the travel would suck, the increased job security would be good as I'm losing a client next year, and will be down to two.
chalupa , I'm wondering if they are going to make you an offer to stay...
My boss, my boss' boss, and his boss after that (C-level) have all asked what it would take for me to stay. Hahaha. They would have to halve my workload, and we all know that's unlikely to happen (or it would happen and then creep up within a year again).

It's really amazing how quickly my "I'm freezing" point changed when I moved. It's all relative though. You guys would come down here when its 80 on a less humid spring day and be all "it's hot as f@ck out there" and I'd be shaking my head thinking how gorgeous it is.

Would it require a lot of travel? And would it be to the same place all the time? I find that once you get used to going to a place it gets less sucky to go because you know the area and can get yourself into a routine. I'd trade some time at home for added job security if you feel like things are potential shaky otherwise.

Not your problem.
Well, I want my exit interview. That's the only reason why I care right now! If she leaves me on the payroll, I'm just going to accumulate even more vacation days the company will have to pay out, so I'm cool with that (they're paying me out for 10 unused days as it is, so yay for an entire extra paycheck!).

kaneen, no way! I'd be loving 80s! Upper 90s though? You can take that. LOL
Yes, it would be the same location. We do account management, not sales, so once I have a client, they are pretty much mine for the long haul. I talked to P last night and he said to offer. She may decide not to take me up on it, but at least I'll look good for offering. Ha.
I have lived in the south now for 16+ years and still can’t get used to the heat. I love the 50-60s in the winter and am still wearing T-shirts’ and flip flops as long as possible. I do notice every year I get a little more sensitive as it gets colder out (below 30s though). This year is different since I am always burning up with this little heater inside!
Welp, my exit interview is over, my project transition plan has been delivered to those impacted, and I've turned on out of office messages to direct everyone to my boss. We have a community volunteering day in the morning (packing boxes at the food bank), a team lunch, then I'm coming in the office for a couple interviews and to turn in my badge and laptop.
NOW I feel the stress lifting. It's really happening! I'm going to shut down BEFORE 5PM FOR A CHANGE and skip on over to visit my horse. Woohoo!
