I got pulled into a customer escalation yesterday that ate up my entire day so I'm hopeful I can actually have a bit of quiet today to get some things knocked off my to-do list.
What's up for the weekend ladies?
I've got a first date tonight. This situation is a bit weird but so far seems ok. I met the guy in the SkyClub in Atlanta about 3 weeks ago. We only chatted briefly but he suggested we get together when we are both in town at the same time. We live in the same city. We've texted pretty consistently since meeting but haven't seen each other in person. During this time, his Dad died. I've been trying to make sure he knows I'm thinking of him without being over-the-top. I mean, we haven't even been on a date yet! At the same time, having a parent pass away is a big deal. I think I've struck a good balance and he seems to appreciate that I've been thinking of him. So anyway, we're having dinner tonight.
Tomorrow I have no plans and there is no football which sucks. I'm going to try to make progress on unpacking things that are stashed in my office (aka the dumping ground for crap). I'll get a workout in as well.
Sunday my Mom is coming to stay with me because her floors are being done. My Dad is staying at their house because he needs to "supervise" . I swear people who do work in my parent's house must just love it. Mom and I are going to see Frozen 2 Sunday night which I'm super excited about.
This weekend is ging to be a bit nuts. Tonight is my company's holiday party downtown. Tomorrow and Sunday i am singing in choir concerts. My feet are not doing well right now and i am dreading having to stand still for 1.5 hours. It's painful.
And somehow in the next 8 days i need to lose 13 pounds. I know i won't get there but need to still drop as much weight as possible. It's my fault, i procrastinated because that's my charm. but jesus im stressing myself out as a result.
Yesterday was dance, private practice, and then I went out with friends. Practiced flirting with men in a bar again and with my two friends created a version of The 12 Days of Christmas that's about my friend's separation and divorce instead. So we were singing that inside a bar, probably off key, and it was hilarious.
Today I'm going to go get a tree. This afternoon I'm going to an assisted stretching session and then tonight I'm going to a big holiday celebration that takes place in the city every year. I live walking distance, but have never gone because it's a really big, crowded event.
Tomorrow I'm getting a haircut and then going to Disneyland.
I'm in a funk y'all. Was going to surprise DS with super amazing seats for Friday Night Smackdown next weekend as part of his Christmas present and he just found out he's got his first improv show so he doesn't want to miss it. So there's the one cool thing I had planned for him for Christmas. I'm tapping out this year. I haven't even bothered to think about Christmas cards. Bah humbug.
Anyway, it's Friday. I'm working from home today. Tonight I think I'm going to my friend's house to drink Polish hot chocolate and then go to a holiday parade with fireworks. Tomorrow I'm going to buti class with my friend and then going Christmas shopping with R. Friday I'm supposed to have bloody marys with friends, but no one has really confirmed they're going. Ugh.
Was supposed to do a labor and delivery class all day tomorrow, but I haven’t been feeling great the last few days (migraine). I just don’t think I can deal with a 9-5 class with an hour commute that has no snacks and makes pregnant ladies sit on the floor ! So many WTFs there. Anyways they refunded me and I’ll relax instead.
Got roped into making one last batch of cupcakes for a friend. Going to keep them simple and make Oreo with chocolate cake.
I’ve gotten all the baby’s clothes washed so hopefully I’ll make some time this weekend to organize them by age in the dresser.

Tonight we are going to a friend's house for drinks and games. I think we are getting a tree tomorrow, and I definitely need to meal plan and grocery shop. P's co-workers have been begging me for baked goods. Today they actually put out a collection jar for a "cake fund" to chip in for the supplies. LOL. Tomorrow night we have a 50th birthday party at a bar, which we probably won't stay long for.
Sunday I'm going to a holiday market with a friend and I think my in-laws are coming over to see the kitchen, now that it's done.
doriswe , awww...hugs. Can you go to DS's comedy show? I know you were looking forward to the show but maybe a second place?
I didn't explain that well...The wrestling was in the city DD lives in (3 1/2 hours from here), so we were going to do a weekend trip to do that and see her, since she wasn't home for Thanksgiving. So all of that is scrapped to stay home and go to his show, which I'm sure will be fun, but not what I was planning.

I went to buy a tree and had sticker shock. I looked around and the prices are pretty comparable everywhere, so I'll be going back to the local small business for my ($$ ) tree, hopefully tomorrow morning before my haircut.

I know in NC there’s a shortage this year, which drove up prices due to the economy downturn in 2009z Do you have a local farmers market that sells a bunch of farms? I was able to dig through a number of places and find a decent deal because our tree was a little wonky looking.

So far my weekend is off to a very lazy start....my kid is with her dad this weekend. I binge watched the entire season of the Marvelous Mrs Maisel last night (starting when I came home around 5 pm after my 6 miles walk, thank god I did exercise first before sitting on the couch for almost 8 hours 😂😂😂) Stayed in bed playing on my phone until 930 and now it’s 11 and have not done anything productive as of yet other than eat breakfast. But these are my very exciting plans for the weekend: get my house picked up and cleaned as I will have friends coming over next weekend for lunch, get my Christmas tree set up (hoping I will be able to get it up from the crawl space by myself ), do laundry and make my yearly mulled wine and get my butt out there to walk this weekend as I don’t have my kid (i usually take a break from walking on the weekend but the weather will be nice), look for a couple of baking classes for my upcoming trip in January and chill (and that one I know I will succeed at haha). We will se how much I really get done, i did finally get all the cardboard moving boxes that were in my living room (which I don’t really use much) dropped off at the recycle place, I moved a year ago...

No, unfortunately. If I get a Douglas fir instead of any other kind, it will be less, but the others are so pretty. At least now I know that they're all expensive, so I can get the best one in my price range, and probably a 4'-5' tree.
