I'm about to head out to do my final pre-race openers ride of the year. The rest of the day is normal weekend stuff-grocery shopping, errands, going to the chiro, etc.
I won a 5k trail race today! 1st place woman. DD got 2nd place in the youth mile, which I ran with her (I almost couldn't keep up - she's 6 and fast). This race last year was my first ever trail race, so of course I did it again. There were more people in the 5k this year, so I was surprised to win. About 3 minutes faster than last year, probably almost entirely due to being more confident on trails.
Thanks! It wasn't that big of a race, but it sure feels good I decided recently that although running isn't my main focus, I need to keep running at least short distances at a fast pace so that when DD is ready, we can run together. I ran countless miles with my parents and I want my kids to be able to run with me (if they want of course).
