My sister is headed to Orlando for a conference in January and I am going to fly in to meet her for a girls week.
We'll have two days for Disney parks and she has asked what I want to do.
I have never been and have zero reference frame for what is even there to do as a "must see". I have been googling, but feel overwhelmed. I just want someone to say do XYZ. Can you help? She has been there several times and is actually on her way there with her family right now for the week. She said we'll do a day at MK, but other than that, I have no idea what to see.
My must sees are in Magic Kingdom: Pirates of the Carribean Haunted Mansion Splash Mountain People Mover (not a flashy attraction but I enjoy it) Mickey's Philharmagic
When I go to Disney, I have must EATS (lol!). Those include: Dole whip Mickey pretzel Popcorn in a bucket
I would recommend this video by DFB Guide on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7LUBcz7cNU It is the best Disney World rides in each park and should give you a great idea of the big things.
When in January? Epcot's Festival of the Arts starts in January. There are food booths, Broadway singers doing mini concerts, activities, decor just for the festival.

I agree with others, recommendations would be based on what you like.
For the day at MK, I would say try to go on a day when they have the fireworks & lights show that night. That's a must-do Disney experience. Other than that, my MK favorites are: 7 Dwarves Mine Train Splash Mountain Buzz Lightyear Pirates of the Caribbean
MK doesn't have the best table service meals (IMO), so if you don't mind leaving and coming back to the park (for fireworks), you could take the boat or monorail to Grand Floridian to eat at 1900 Park Fare or another restaurant at GF.

I love Bway, so I will check this out! Thank you!
Right now, I'm thinking MK one day and Epcot the next. My sister has been to all of them and told me to choose. She did recommend doing MK since it's my first time.

Epcot is heavily under construction right now, and while it's my favorite park you might want to consider Animal Kingdom instead. There aren't a ton of rides there either, but the ones they have are really great--Expedition Everest is my favorite coaster, period.

The Festival of the Lion King and the Finding Nemo show are also both excellent here (and inside!).
