I hope all the ILs are doing well this holiday season. We're currently living in an Airbnb and going to move just before Christmas to another short-term let (2-3 mo). Hoping we can buy the house we want before March! Not sure what we'll actually do on Christmas day as we're going to have a tiny kitchen to use. Might have to find a pub!

Not an ILer anymore, but I’m glad to hear you’ve sorted another 2-3 months. I can’t imagine how frustrating this must be.

I hope you're in a home by your goal date and sorry to hear you're moving around so close to the holidays.

I'm not sure what we are going to do for the holidays and are trying to get debt free before our move back to the US sometime next year. I'm already in purge mode even with more than 6 months to go!

Hope your house troubles will sort out quickly!
No big plans for me. My kid is with her dad next week and I only have Xmas day off. Probably spend cams even with friends. I’m not a big fan of the holidays, I wasn’t even when I was still married. It was fun seeing DD be all excited about it but that’s it.
Get to go to Paris for a week in January. Wanted to go somewhere while DD is in Hawaii with her dad for a week. Found myself a 2 day conference in Paris so my work will be paying for a good chunk of my vacation. Nothing wrong with that . Will get to see my aunt, do a couple of baking classes, hopefully see my FWB and just wander around and enjoy a week away by myself.

I finally decided that I should visit ‘home’ for the holiday this year as I am hoping it will be the last one over here for a while. My dad passed away on dec 22nd five years ago, and I kind of told myself that that would be the last time I ever spent Christmas there because I just don’t like the reminders tbh. So, it being a big-ish anniversary, I am having feelings about all of it, but I imagine I’ve worked up to be much worse in my head. In all actuality, I’m sure it will be perfectly fine.

I booked flights for a spring visit in April. I figured it would be good to get a feel for the neighborhoods im targeting, and maybe I can meet with a letting agent just to get a relationship going (though the few I’ve reached out to have basically said to come back when I’m 6 weeks out, lol). So, it may not be super productive, but flights were cheap and why not?
