We send a few school art projects. C is 5 and in kindergarten, for reference. This year their art department used a company to reproduce kids’ art on notecards and coasters and whatnot — we got each grandmother a little trivet with his art on it.
I have done more in the past but it's always been a struggle for me to figure something out. Sometimes I've bought a special ornament and made it from the kids. I think once I did a Willow Tree for DH's mom. If I have small extra item, sometimes I just label that from the kids. We get DH's parents a dining gift card for when they go to Florida in winter, every year, and they really like that. This year my parents asked for a hotel/dining stay gift package, so...done!
My mom really isn't into the cutesy kid gifts, and DH's mom has enough of that stuff already.
DH's brother's family does some kind of little craft with their kids each year for the grandmas and they are really cute, but as the kids get older I think it's getting to be harder to get it done and also how many projects like that do you really need?
One year the siblings on both sides all went in on Pandora type bracelets for each grandma with a charm for each grandkid (their birth months).

Some kind of craft usually. I always mean to start early and don’t, so we will have tears Monday as we try to finish many many grandparent gifts. My kids have a lot of great grandparents also, so it’s a lot.
This year we are making beeswax candles because the 4yr old made some at school and thinks it’s the coolest thing ever
My son has a Santa Secret Shoppe at school so we give him money to buy for each grandparent. This hear the grandmas got tumblers saying I Love Grandma and the grandpas got magnets.
Daycare makes ten million Christmas crafts every season so I pick out one or two to give to each set of grandparents.
This year I also did an ornament for each where I bought those clear balls that come apart, stuffed them with that green, white and red accordion paper (the kind you put in gift bags or baskets) and put a photo of each boy in there.
We also get them real presents. My mom got a Cricut press and storage cart, we got my dad gift cards to have his perfect day (lunch at his favorite place, movie at the theatre he likes, and shopping at his favorite sporting goods store). For H’s parents, we got them their Magic Kingdom tickets to meet us for a day on our trip next month.
From age 2 on, my boys went Santa Secret Shopping at either daycare, school, or the dollar store. This year they are getting glow bracelets, glow necklaces, toy airplanes, and Legos.
We made ornaments for my grandparents when I was little where my mom traced our hands on a circular piece of construction paper, outlined it with glue and then sprinkled on glitter, and then it had the following poem on the back:
This is my hand, so tiny and wee For you to hang on your Christmas tree So you can watch as the years go by How we grow, my hand and I.
We made this with DS's hand last year and this year for my parents and my grandmother, and we did the same this year, along with photo coffee mugs and coffee for my parents.

Our PTA does an Original Works fundraiser where they create a piece of art in art class, and you can order things made from it. So I order something for the kids to give to the grandparents from that (note pads, magnets, etc.). Ds is in middle school this year though, so they didn't have that, or the enchanted shop. We gave him the option to take him to buy some stuff for grandparents and us, but he only wanted to buy something for his sister, and we were fine with that.

DD is very creative. She's making Bitmoji characters for the whole family and then printing them onto transfer paper and ironing them onto a tshirt and adding letters that say Grandpa's Crew.

Our school also does original works. Their preschool did as well, just a different company. So each year the grandparents get magnets with the kids artwork on it.
Photo calendar, card and nice chocolate. I like the idea of a craft but didn’t have time this year (we are long distance from everyone so packages have long been mailed).
