The Revlon One-Step hair dryer and volumizer really lives up to the hype. I used it for the first time today, and my hair was shiny, smooth, bouncy, and straight. I went over just the top layer with a flat iron because it's crazy humid here, but in dryer weather I wouldn't have to. Just DON"T buy it at Ulta. I paid $60 yesterday, and it's $35 at Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Oops.

Yeah...I saw the price difference after I had used it twice. It was like salt into my proverbial wound from crappy customer service of Ulta I received during Nov/Dec.
However, that tool makes me actually able to do stuff with my hair and not be completely inept! I just have to make time to do it.

Buy one from Amazon and then return it to Ulta using your Ulta receipt, unless they have different packaging or models?
And I third the love for this thing. I bought it for no reason other than Facebook advertising, but I am seriously amazed how nice it makes my hair look and so quickly.
Also I had a bunch of sale stuff in my Sephora cart to get with the extra 20% off sale. But I wanted to wait till the 1st for 2020 points. Yesterday almost all of it was sold old, sob.

secretlyevil , ChillyMcFreeze , I've been looking into this. I can never get my hair completely straight on my own. It takes my stylist 35 minutes to do it. I have a ton of thick and wavy/more curly hair.

Will this work for me?
So I have fine, curly, frizzy hair but a good amount of it. The difference I see with this tool versus a blow dryer is smoothness. When I blow dry with a paddle brush (because I can't for the life of me use a round brush and a blow dryer), it dries curly and frizzy, so I always have to flat iron every layer. With this, the end result after just a few minutes is like I did a once-over with a flat iron. All I have to do is straighten the very top layer to get a little of the wave and frizz out. It has probably cut my routine in half from 20 minutes to 10 and it lets me keep so much more volume because I'm not ironing it all out.

I think so. I have a ton of wavy/loose curl hair. Doing sections at a time is the trick. I have clips similar to what my hairstylist uses.
ETA: I have never been good at straightening my own hair with anything, blow dryer/brush, flat iron, you name it. I could actually use this and it didn’t take too long as I waited until my hair was nearly dry.
mortomomrsukyankee any updates on the Stila Hide and Chic foundation? How are you liking it?
I'm considering that, MUFE Ultra HD, or the Fenty hydrating foundation, but I don't love the fragrance of that one.
I've worn it twice so far and it looks very skin like. I did get a little shiny by the end of the day, but it didn't really breakdown, so I think blotting or powder touch up would solve that issue. So far so good! It's very thin/watery so it goes on very nicely. I used both a brush and a damp beauty blender and I preferred the beauty blender. I would say it's light to medium coverage and seems to be buildable.

That's good to hear! Thanks, I think I'm going to try to get a sample today.

My hair sounds similar to yours. Typically I have my stylist AND her assistant tag team drying mine. I feel silly saying this but the revlon thing changed my life. It’s truly one step and gives better results than when I have to get out my flat iron. It’s a game changer for people with hair like us!
Lots of folks in the holiday haul thread complaining about Sephora’s rewards sucking so much. First, are they ever going to change it? Anyone heard any buzz to that effect?
Second, I got an email from them showing the birthday gifts. Briogeo crap, Sol de Janeiro 2 little cream samples, or Milk crap. There is an online only mystery gift for VIB and Rouge. 🙄 Make sure to report back if you have an early birthday what the mystery is.
Third, I am going to write some letters (emails). I am going to write one to Sephora complaining about the rewards and ongoing stinginess of their sales. I am going to write to Ulta about products/lines I want them to sell. I am going to write to Drunk Elephant about the monopoly they created with Sephora and ask them to have other places sell it. I’ll give you all the letters too.

The VIB/Rouge is a deluxe same of Jo Malone Sage & Salt perfume. Ehh.
I do like the 100 GC I got for my points from sephora, and now hoard my points just for that.
I got samples of three more foundations at Sephora today and the woman tried the Beauty Blender foundation on me (in addition to giving me a sample). So far it looks like a REALLY good match. Kinda flat at the moment, but I don't have any moisturizer on under it, so we'll see how it looks over my usual skincare. I also got a sample of Stila Hide and Chic and the Hourglass tinted moisturizer. Why did Jouer have to discontinue their tinted moisturizer??!?

Have you tried Sephora's Matte Perfection Tinted Moisturizer? I don't remember which YouTuber was gushing about it (Hot & Flashy or Stephanie Marie, maybe? Definitely a more "mature" woman.) but I picked it up and am a big fan so far. Just enough coverage to minimize the redness in my cheeks without looking like makeup. I've worn it 2-3 times so far.

I have normal to dry skin right now. I like it. I've tried putting it on with a brush, beauty blender and my fingers. I like putting it on with my fingers followed by patting it with my beauty blender (damp, of course). It's like a tinted moisturiser but lasts longer (especially when I use All Nighter spray over it). It covers just enough of my rosacea red but not make me look like I'm wearing a mask. It might be my holy grail but I'm giving it a bit more time. I have to go back and get a lighter colour as the one I have is a bit too yellow/dark for me at this time but it's still okay.

Which color are you wearing? I'm trying light 2, probably tomorrow.
tiramisu, light-medium 1. I'm reasonably pale at this point. The LM1 will work in the spring/summer for me as I do get a touch darker when out in the sun more.

I've been shocked at how light I've had to go in foundations lately. Which is hard, because a lot of companies struggle with warm and olive undertones for light skin. And I'm not even *that* pale right now.
The bad news for me though is that the lip crayons have pomegranate oil in them. Pomegranates give me mouth hives, so I'm guessing these will be a no go for me. Sob.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I am glad you stocked up on the old formula.

I'm just here to rave more about DE. I started using the glycolic night serum and babyfacial in the fall, and I don't think my skin has looked this great since, like, childhood, lol.
Between that and my lash lift/tint I haven't worn makeup since Christmas.

I just got a 20% off Ulta and I have a lot of points that will expire soon (I didn't make platinum in an effort to use what I have). For $7.99 out of pocket, I just got: Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming perfume 3.4 oz, IT CC cream, IT moisturizer, a Becca primer (trying it for the first time), and an Urban Decay eyeliner. All except the primer are basics/replacements. I'm pretty happy!
I decided to try the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni retinol cream because they have a mini size available at Sephora right now. I used it last night and no irritation so far. When I used the Paula's Choice 1% retinol I think I developed some irritation or soreness after the first try, so fingers crossed.
I also got a sample of the Bite foundation and wore it yesterday. I think it's a little more matte than I was expecting, but coverage was really pretty. I'm giving it the weekend to see what I think, but I might be closer to finally picking a foundation.

Super excited to get the Ulta 20% off. I’ve needed to replace my Clarisonic brush head plus I’m almost out of the cleanser and both are 5x the points plus the Hey Honey face serum is half off Monday. Pretty good deal for all 3:) Also Becca needs to bring back those blush soufflés. I’m finally realizing how amazing cream blushes are and there’s not that many to choose from now.

I finally got a letter written. Please feel free to copy/modify. Please also send some version-- see if we can turn this into a movement!
Hello, I have loved many Drunk Elephant products for several years.
However, I am writing to the company with the appeal that Drunk Elephant be sold at other stores besides Sephora for the following reasons:
1. Sephora has a terrible rewards program-- they do not reward my loyalty at all, so I do not wish to offer them my money and loyalty.
2. Sephora has a history of racism. They racially profile black women and treat them like shoplifters. Here is an article about the incident and their weak response. I do not wish to buy your products from Sephora. Surely your company does not wish for such a problematic company to have a monopoly on Drunk Elephant's brand. www.nytimes.com/2019/06/04/style/sephora-will-shut-down-for-an-hour-of-diversity-training-tomorrow.html
Please start offering Drunk Elephant for sale at stores such as Nordstrom or Ulta, or online vendors such as Skinstore or Space NK so that I can buy your excellent products again.
