For our 10 year anniversary in 2021, we're planning a trip to both Glacier National Park and a couple of the Canadian parks. I know things book up so far out (especially in Glacier), so I want to be able to book this summer when Glacier Park's reservations open up. I'd like to know what I'm looking at having to save money-wise.
I think I know where we want to stay in Glacier. We were wanting to do two nights in Banff/Lake Louise area and two for Jasper as well. Budget would probably be under $250 American dollars per night, and I know that may be a hard task after looking at a few places lol. We don't do camping or sharing bathrooms, so hostels are out.
Has anyone been to this area and have recommendations for some cheaper hotels that are still not too far of a drive to the national parks? Any other recommendations for things to do or not do are welcome as well. I am in the beginning stages of planning and feeling a bit overwhelmed with all there is to do in these beautiful parks.
My inlaws took everyone for their 50th Anniversary and paid for it all so I don't have any accommodation recommendations. I did enjoy Jasper more than Banff and things seemed less crowded there. If you can add a day to Jasper, I would recommend it. Go early in the day to try to beat the crowds. The longer hikes were a little better as they didn't have as many people. I loved it there! If you like to hike, it's paradise.
