I've been getting a redirect ad from here that asks for my satisfaction regarding my service provider. The support board says they have it flagged, but it hasn't been taken out of the system yet. Let me know if anyone else continues to get it during the next couple of days.
I took a business trip in October and used a backpack - I took along my toiletry kit and a few packing cubes. I know that I emptied it out when I got home because the clothes were cleaned and put away.
I can’t find the backpack, toiletry kit, or packing cubes, and it’s irritating the hell out of me. I usually put my travel stuff away promptly in the same couple of places - so I wonder if MH put it somewhere, because he has a habit of putting stuff in weird places or inside of other luggage to “get it out of the way” and then conveniently forgets where he put it or if he even touched it in the first place. And of course, on this occasion he can’t remember if he even put the bag away. I’m thinking he did, since like I said I can’t find it after checking every conceivable place it could be, but I’m not confident enough about what I personally did with the bag to really push it with him. There’s one more closet I need to dig through to see if it’s there, and if it’s not there then I guess it must’ve vanished into thin air because I don’t know where the hell it could be.
Also annoyed because I would like to have a rice cooker and also a basic printer/scanner for WFH, and I checked FB Marketplace first so I can buy used rather than new, but of course nothing suitable came up in my search. I don’t need them immediately so I can keep looking.

I put out a new bird feeder yesterday and the birds are going absolutely nuts over it. It's in a place I can see from where I'm working and it's so much fun to watch them all. Lots of cardinals, bluejays, a red-bellied woodpecker so far, and maybe even a kingbird -- but I can't identify most of them, so I'll have to do some research.

I'm working from home and my DH is home sick. Except, he can't sit still ever so he's doing projects around the house. It's just a bad cold so it's not like he should be bedridden, but still.
And now he's going to complain about how he's so tired and how it takes him ages to get better.

I just got redirected twice to some sort of retail spam site while trying to post.

I went to renew my drivers license this morning and realized that I think H lost my birth certificate. He took it to work to scan before we moved overseas and apparently it never came back home. Thankfully I haven’t sent my passport for renewal yet (because that needs to be renewed too), otherwise I’d have no way to renew my license that expires in two days.
So now on top of a new license and a new passport I guess I need a new birth certificate.

On Saturday night DH and I went roller skating. The county opens up the gym of a local middle school and they have a DJ and a snack bar with $1 snacks. It was a total blast and I can't wait to go back. I have spent the morning researching skates. I am sure I want inline skates over quad skates. I skated with quad skates on Saturday and I find them harder to move in (and easier to fall in!). Times like this are when I really miss brick and mortar stores where I could try on skates. It seems like the only place where I can do that is the sports store and they have two options that are way more expensive than I want.

I'm starting to want to get back into old hobbies. I'm thinking about buying a new pair of ice skates. Mine are over 20 years old... but I only used them for 2 seasons before I went to college and stopped skating.
I also played my old clarinet the other day. It desperately needs some TLC.

Ice skating is so fun! I bet you could just get them sharpened and they would be fine.

They're fine, I just feel like my feet might have changed shape since 1999.

We finally got our 3rd set of keys to the flat we're renting. It took THREE WEEKS. I basically bitched every day for the last two weeks at two people until it happened. I'm sure they will be happy to never hear from me again.

I had to spent close to $100 to get new pads and cork on my old clarinet, but playing again is so worth it! Sadly, I’ve forgotten a ton and have to relearn, which feels odd having even played at the college level!
Speaking of taking up old hobbies, our local rec council started an adult ballet class yesterday, and I went. It was a legit ballet class, and so much fun! I just wish it wasn't Sundays at 4pm, such a crappy time.

Oh that sounds so fun! I’d love to do something like that but the classes I’ve tried as an adult have been super basic and boring. I need a legit class!
After returning to work last week (after taking time off for the holidays) I thought I wasn't going to have any days off work until the middle of April. I just realized I'm off on president's Day and DH and I are going to each take a day off later that week so we can go to Atlantic City for a night. Even though it will just be a 2 day/ 1 night trip, it will break things up nicely and feel like a mini vacation. (at least I hope)

Ooooh, go to Chef Vola’s if you can get a reservation. I love that place.
We live up in Essex County so it’s an Event to get down there. MH’s suggested getting an early reservation and then just driving back home afterward but there’s no way I want to drive back up the Parkway for nearly 2 hours in the evening after that kind of dinner. If there was a direct train from AC to Newark I’d actually consider a non-overnight.
We had a pretty intense thunderstorm move through our area from midnight-4:00 in the morning, and it woke everyone up multiple times. The dog was whining, the cats were racing all over the place, and to top it off H was on call so his phone went off several times during the brief lulls in the storm.
No amount of caffeine could make up for that lost sleep today.
We're also waiting on a job offer for H (they're checking references) and have just started seriously house hunting in the city we're moving to this summer. After an hour on the phone with our realtor and a long conversation about other adult-y moving-related things last night I did not need a few hours of disrupted sleep.

My neighbors don't seem to think snow removal is warranted unless there's enough snow to get out the snow blower for. This also seems to apply to their steps as well.
They're not old. They own shovels.
I just don't get it. I mean, shovelling is annoying but I would think walking through 2+ inches of snow every day to get to your car would be much worse.
I found a group that is using projectors for sewing (projecting the pattern directly onto fabric), and it's blowing my mind. My least favorite thing to do with e-patterns is printing them and taping them together.

Scaling and making sure you have it square so it's not distorted top to bottom sounds like a pain in the rear...I can imagine easy ways to check, but how do they do it?
EtA: I googled! It's a dedicated laser device?! This is awesome.

Or at least a dedicated projector that they mount to the ceiling and calibrate. Once you have it calibrated you would just need to spot check once in a while.

Yeah, that's what I was picturing. What a good idea.
Does anyone how how often DSW runs those “free travel bag with $50(?) purchase” promos? I need some new shoes but not immediately, so I’d like to wait until DSW does another free with purchase promo.

I got something in the mail that said one starts either this week or next (I think I remember it saying the 16th).
I have a milestone birthday coming up and my parents want to get me a “unique” gift - something fun that I wouldn’t buy myself. My brother got a ping pong table. I cannot think of anything. I am kinda realizing that I am no fun.
I'm in a really crappy mood. We canceled our trip to Puerto Rico for pleasure, but H is still down there for work. I was really looking forward to going and now it's just going to be a long weekend with no plans. I'm in total depression mode right now.
