I always think of this when I'm using my bathroom sink and then I never remember to post
I loved my bathroom hardware when I picked it out and now I wish I had picked something different. Everything I chose is very squared with flat tops that I now know allow water to collect and make water spots if you don't dry them off each time. I guess before I've always only had fixtures with rounded handles or spigots where the water falls off and never had this problem.
It's not a huge deal and it only take a few moments to wipe them down and get rid of the spots, but it's freaking annoying. I love the modern look of the fixtures, but had I anticipated this, I would have chosen something different.
no amount of feedback on this type of stuff is too small. I was debating the merits of a heated floor vs rain show head yesterday. We're leaning towards the floor....I've never used a rain shower head but I tend to prefer baths.

Definitely heated floor. I love my rain shower head, but I'd give that up for a heated floor any day.

I checked, and mine don't seem to have that problem. They are square and flat on the top of the lever, but maybe it's the finish that doesn't show water spots? Anyway, I have these if anyone needs a rec.

Brushed nickel is much better than chrome finish. I put chrome finish in one bathroom and out is bad for showing spots.
Thankfully, all that we did in that bathroom was replace the vanity and faucet when we moved in 6+ years ago, so when we get around to redoing the whole bathroom we will know better.

We have the heated floor and the rain shower. I love the heated floors. I wish I could justify putting them everywhere. I don't use the rain shower, but DH loves it. I don't ever feel like there's enough water pressure out of the rain shower to wash my hair with, so I end up using the handheld shower.
But we live in CA with restrictions on water flow, so you may not have the same problem elsewhere. We can get around the restrictions of having two showerheads run at once, but we can't have a non-CA compliance head delivered to CA.
Accountingcat, we have the same taste in faucets. We just put in the same line, but we used the widespread. So far so good in terms of waterspots, but we also have a pretty hard core water softener.
