Did the second induction go faster? Just curious as many people say labor is generally faster the second time around. My first induction they started pitocin around 7:30 AM and I gave birth 10pm. Wonder if this will move along more quickly. I know anything can happen, but hoping for the best!
I had an elective induction with #2 after a spontaneous labor with #1. The labors were fairly similar in time, counting from the start of pitocin on the induction. Even though I was only 2cm, my OB predicted it would be a quick and easy induction based on how #1 went, and she was right.
With #1, labor woke me up around 1am, and I delivered at 5:10am. 39w2d.
With #2, they broke my water around 9am (which didn't do much), pitocin started around 11am, and I delivered at 3:41pm. 39w3d.

#1 was spontaneous and was about 6h from “I think that’s a contraction” to baby born 39w5d
#2 was an induction started pitocin at 7:30a, was turned off by 8a, baby was born at 10:09a. I was checked at 9:54a and was 4cm- baby was born 10:09a. So super quick labor.
They are hoping for an elective induction with #3 as they are worried I won’t make it to the hospital in time if I go into labor naturally. So I’d be interested in answers here as well!

Wow! I am worried about going through your first birth because I have yet to feel any contractions, just Braxton Hicks.

I barely felt any BH the first time, I was only 2cm when I checked into the hospital like 4-5 hours into labor, I dilated super quick (apparently that’s my thing haha) and was complete and pushing 45mjn after I got into a room. My water also didn’t break until I got into a room so the midwife was very short and seemingly annoyed with me as she couldn’t understand why my pain level seemed so high- turns out i was in transition. Luckily it was a Sunday and we got to the hospital quick, we’re not far from the hospital (17min no traffic) but we live in ATL- unless it’s Sunday morning, there’s always traffic haha!!!

Wow that’s a quick induction!!
Yes, the midwife and doctors missed the birth- DH had to go running down the hall to the nurses station screaming, “the heads out, the head is out!!” Luckily as he ran out, a paperwork nurse walked in and got a glove on to catch DD. I had a doula too, so obviously she would have delivered the baby if necessary, but it was crazy to say the least. This whole mess is why they want to induce me again. Jokes on them if he comes earlier though lol (which I’m sure won’t happen).
First induction took about 12 hours from the start of pitocin to him being born. Second induction took about 6 hours from start to finish. It started off slow but then I dilated from 6 to 10 in one hour and pushed for only 5-10 minutes.
I wasn't induced the first time around but after my water broke at home and we went to the hospital I was put on Pitocin pretty quickly due to not really being dilated/effaced. Getting my labor to progress took for.ev.er. All in all it was 29 hours from water breaking to delivery and I pushed for the last 2.5 of that.
With #2 I was induced at 37 weeks due to elevated blood pressure. It was a little over 24 hours total from my first dose of misoprostol to delivery, but I went from 5-10cm in a little over an hour once epidural #2 went in (epi #1 didn't work) and I only pushed for ~20 minutes.
#1 Water broke at home around 1pm at 36+6. No contractions happening at all, so I was augmented with Pitocin starting around 9pm. Baby was born at 10am.
#2 True induction at 38+2 due to hypertension. I had my membranes stripped at the appointment when they scheduled my induction, and I think I was in early labor when I got to the hospital. Pit was started at 1am, baby was born at 5am.
My first induction (2nd pg) took about 14 hours. My second one (4th pg) took about 9 hours from start to finish. My other two were spontaneous, 12 hrs with my first and 5ish hours with my third.
Delivery was much faster with each pregnancy. With my 4th I went from 7cm to birth in less than 20 minutes.
My first induction failed and ended with a csection at approximately 32 hours. Second induction ended with a successful VBAC at almost exactly 30 hours to the minute.

Whelp, I’ve been admitted for my induction!! I’m already 3 cm dilated so that’s good. They gave me some ambien and I’m waiting for it to kick in. I’m excited and nervous!!! Eeek.
1st labor was a scheduled induction at 40 weeks 1 day, started with cytotec cervical ripening. It kicked me into labor, my water broke on its own and I never needed pitocin. 12 hours from first cytotec dose to baby, and went 5cm-complete in 1 hour.
2nd labor started spontaneously overnight at 40 weeks even, but was augmented because I was only contracting every 10-15 minutes. I was also AROM'd that time (I had borderline too much fluid so we wanted a controlled release). 7 hours from starting pitocin to baby. 6cm-9cm in 30 minutes, then another 40 min to baby.
I transition fast apparently, once I hit active labor. I could have waited at home for active labor with my second and avoided the augmentation, but a) I was so sick of being pregnant with all the stress i had throughout and b) if i waited for active labor, I probably would have been having my baby at home or in the car. No thanks.
