Dear Gym Coach I'm so happy DD surprised you by doing her back handspring on the trampoline by herself last night. The giant grin on DD's face was/is totally priceless. Also we talked to you months ago about DD not being able to shift her hands on bars. You just figured this out last night and now see it as a problem. Why can't you listen to parents or kids when they say I don't get this or this doesn't feel right? Gym Mom
Dear Mom When I say DD needs to read and work on spelling when she is with you on M/W for over 2 hours. I mean she needs to do that! You saying she doesn't have enough time is BS as she had no problems doing school stuff between 3:30-5 during the off season when she was home with me. Actually she did a lot of school stuff even on gym days but I'm only saying she needs to do them on non 4pm practice days. The Mom

Dear doggo, I miss you so much! I hope you're enjoying doggo heaven, and running and jumping and playing again. But it's not the same coming home without you to greet us, and I never realized how much I talked to you until you're gone. If we get another dog in the future, that dog will have big paws to fill because you set the bar so high! Love, Mom
Dear WPs, My annual review is on Friday! I've been doing the job of senior leadership for about six months now, so I feel like that was my test to get a promotion to Director level. I think I've done well, I've busted my butt to pull everything off, but I am so, so nervous for this review! I'm working on drafting a list of reasons why I deserve to be director and trying to figure out how to fight for it if they don't give it to me. Anyone have tips for me? I've never negotiated like that before. Signed, Hopefully a new director
Your resume wasn't bad. Until I got to the part where you said you completed 117/120 units necessary to get your bachelor's degree. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?! That's ONE class. It was long enough ago that it's not something you'd just wrap up now.
I am trying to think of all kinds of reasons why someone would be forced to stop working on a degree, but man. ONE class. ONE.
Signed, Trying not to be judgmental, just baffled.
k3am, I was 1 required class short to graduate in June. I was also 20 credit short of the 250 college credits needed to sit for the CPA exam. The 1 class I needed wasn't offered over the summer. I lived 15 minutes from campus at my parents home. I took summer classes and the final class plus another in the fall to graduate with my BS and enough credit to take the CPA exam which I changed my mind about later on. But it was cost effective for me to do that since it was in my home town and I was living at home with minimal expenses. If I was going to school out of state or away from home the cost might have been too much to go back in the fall for just 1 class. My question would be why put that data on your resume? 186momx
186momx, she lives in the same town as the school. Based on her timeline, she definitely was an in-state student. Current fees per unit (15+ years later) are ~$400, so it wasn't a huge money issue (but acknowledge that it could have been a huge money issue to her.) She was working at the time, and from what I know of that company, they'd have paid the tuitition.
I just hate leaving things unfinished, especially if they're theoretically easy to finish.
I'm sure there's a reason for it, but why would you put that on your resume? Just put "State School 2000-2002."
Also, PS, job candidate if you're by some weird chance reading this.. we're still working on getting interviews set up with you. It's not a big deal, it's just weird. If you are indeed reading and come in, give me a sign so I can marvel at the universe.

You're going to ask her why the hell she put that on her resume and report back right? (candidate, if you're reading this, know that I'm invested).
The recruiter we're working with just told us her current salary and... I don't want to pay her that. It's over market for what her resume says she does. Apparently those missing 3 units didn't set her back at all.
Dear XH, Could you suck more? "Guess what mom! Dad sold his gold wedding ring to buy an engagement ring!" Is not the announcement I need from our kids. Why would you tell them that level of detail? Also, you're disgusting scum. Signed, Horrified
Dear therapist, Clear some space on the couch. I'm coming back. Love, Thought I was "cured"
Knock it off. I dont have time to go to the clinic for an earache.
Signed, busy
Dear worplace,
I really hope the poor leadership doesn't run off my new employee. Committing staff to a job when there aren't literally enough days to accomplish it is stupid. Especially when it isn't even neccessary.
Can he suck more? No, no he cannot. On the good side, you know her ring sucks ass and was basically paid for by you. Which is pretty hilarious if you think about the fact that it’s also connected to that piece of crap.
Signed, Hoping he puts it in dessert and accidentally chokes on it
mommyatty , I keep cracking up at the dessert comment. Thank you all for the solidarity! I mean, let's be clear, I in no way whatsoever want him back. I'd like to erase him completely. But man, that hit me like a punch to the gut last night. Had a good cry. Vented to beau. Woke up basically just pissed that he's such a shit show of a dad.
Dear self, Did you hear that this week?? A pulse! You have an interview for a VP role, just don't self sabatoge and try and relax! Signed, slow pulse but I'll take it
Dear son and hubby, Please don't drive me crazy this long weekend, I need to relax! Signed Momma needs some me time
twinmomma, same girl? I am kind of surprised she is still around. He really is the worst.
Dear WP,
Hope you guys don't mind me using you to be my accountability partner. Day 17 no soda and working out everyday. Increasing my step count and working on a plan to work out while DH is deployed. No excuses.
It would be nice if we had standardized titles. Like.. some of them are very obvious and everyone understands what someone does. Other ones, companies have changed titles or made up titles, and then you're trying to hire and it's like.. WTF? And it makes it hard because you're looking at a resume for someone and thinking "this person is clearly an entry level portfolio manager" but their title is some made up "AVP customer relationship manager." So now I'm not even sure if this person fills the role we're looking for, and whether or not they'd be willing to accept a "step back" in their career and loss of their AVP title, even though they it's the same role.
Signed, Ugh.
PS, with our recent acquisiton, we ended up changing titles here too to be consistent with the acquired company. So my boss, who was always a SVP of our division is now the president of our division. I'm assuming so that all those "presidents" we acquired didn't get "demotions."
