I don't know how to describe my problem. I use a MAC eyeliner. Sometimes by the time I get to work, I look in the mirror and the line has touched my face a bit below my eyebrow, and there's a matching eyeliner line there. Like, the lid has touched the upper eye area and rubbed off so now i have an eyeliner line along my lid as it should be, plus a lighter second eyeliner lid a bit below my eyebrow.
If you have any idea what I'm describing, what can I do about this? I tried the Stila liquid liner instead but it was too hard for me to use well.
I'd try setting it with powder eyeshadow in a similar color. I've had this happen when my life prep was too hydrating. What else are you putting on your eyes?
Ditto pp. If you don't want to set it with a powder eyeshadow, you should be able to use a translucent powder. Also, try an eyelid primer (I like Urban Decay or Benefit).

Is it a liquid eyeliner? Are you wearing shadow as well? Primer? My favs are either Urban Decay or Milani. Also, if it is a liquid, it might not be dry when you put on mascara. I do bottom eyeliner, bottom mascara, top eyeliner, top mascara.
Thanks for all the help, guys! I'm going to work thru the suggestions one by one. This morning I made sure that I wasn't getting my moisturizer on my lids (which I"m pretty sure I normally do, although not intentionally). It didn't help. Tomorrow (well, Monday) I'm going to try my smashbox primer on my lids. If that doesn't work, I may try eyelid primer next. I"m pretty sure I had that stuff at one point, but I don't know if I have any now.
I gave up on liner as no matter what I did, I ended up with it (or the eyeshadow) on my brow. Sigh.
Because of our hooded eyes. I am definitely going to get an eye lift before age 50. I believe it will be around 6K. I am saving to pay cash for a kitchen reno and then for gutting our master bath. But after that it’s eye time!

I know. I've actually talked to my H about it because it's totally pushing on my eyelashes now. If it goes any further, I'll NEED to do it. I don't want to do it, but might have to.

I don't know how much time is elapsing between these things. But I find leaving some time for wet products to set does help. I moisturize when I get out of the shower, and do something else before I start my makeup. Drink coffee, or start my hair or something.
If I'm wearing eyeliner, it does help to apply the primer, then wait at least a minute or two to put shadow and liner down.
Another thing you may want to try if you aren't already is to put your lid eyeshadow color down before putting liner down, so you've got something dry that is helping adhere the liner to the primer.

Thank you! I didn't know that powder should go on before liner.
I agree with powder over pencil. I use dark brown both, and my foundation is waterproof, which helps.
Like a lining powder? I think I have some of that left from when I had my wedding makeup done, lol. It's dark brown. I'll dig it out.
Dark brown pencil liner, and dark brown eyeshadow applied with a small brush, like a lip brush, over the line to blur, blend, and "set" it. Works great. Buy waterproof, or extended-wear everything, if you can.
