We have a free weekend. Then next weekend we have 3 birthday parties in two days. Two overlap, and those are while DH has to be at a baseball coaching clinic, so I’m dividing and conquering with another mom with kids in both classes. So basically we are enjoying our quiet weekend this weekend.
We also have no real plans! I have one errand that I must run tomorrow morning and then we are free and clear. We don't even have Superbowl plans because I live in New England and don't know what to do when the Pats aren't playing. I have yet to break it to my kids that their hero Tom isn't in the game. We have a couple Kiwi Crates tucked away that will be a nice, calm way to spend some time.
DH and I went to see 1917 tonight. It was really good.
Tomorrow DS2 starts his soccer class for 2 year olds. He wants to be like my older kids so much, so I think he’ll be into it. It’s at a park with a good playground to entertain the older kids. Then a couple sisters on our street are in the play Matilda at the local high school, so I’m taking DD to the 2 pm show - she’s never seen a real play. Then a moms night out tomorrow night with some girlfriends for dinner.
Sunday we’re having our friends - another family with 3 kids - over to watch the super bowl. I could care less about the game but figure it’s a good reason to get together. I highly dislike Boston area sports teams from my time living in New Hampshire so I am glad the Pats aren’t in it this year - sorry twinmomma .
Next weekend DD and DH will be camping, so we’re packing a lot in this weekend (for us).

I thought we would have a play date free weekend but it turns out we have one saturday and sunday. How stuff just happens. I'm glad though. For the most part this involves DS going to someone's house or someone coming to our house and being dropped off. I like chatting with the parents but it's nice to do it for 20 minutes and then say bye and the kids just play.
DD has no play dates this weekend so I'm thinking I should invite someone over but their parents might want to hang out because of the kids' ages, I just don't like entertaining.
Speaking of which, I forgot it was Superbowl weekend.
Next weekend we will ALSO be camping! At Family Camp at the YMCA camp we are thinking of signing DS up for.
My fear though -- DS is 8. He's been dry almost all nights but this week had two accidents during the night. It makes me wonder if he shouldn't do overnight camp at all....although now he's excited about it.
Here's a good laugh for all of you. Bought a super cute leopard print sweater for $7 on clearance at Target last night. Cut all the tags off and got ready this morning, only to discover it's actually a maternity shirt. Don't even care. It looks no different than the over sized sweaters I bought in the Juniors department a month ago. Unfortunately, I forgot my kids can read the texts I sent my sister asking her opinion on it. So fingers crossed they don't make a comment about my maternity shirt to beau.
Free weekend here too. Last night I had a basement full of teenagers including the out of town girl I think Ds likes.
Today Ds is working at a neighbors house at his sawmill. That's great since I just paid $357 for his insurance. This should give him some running money. Dd has a cold. I think I am going to clean and make a big, oldfashion meatloaf, potatoes, beans and cornbread for supper.
Tomorrow I am going to a Superbowl party.
Sos. Thankfully Dh is working. He had a big baby fit because he got a $500 bonus this week and it didn't go for anything fun he wanted. I paid 2 insurance bills this week, plus the extra college and retirement savings. I also paid the dowdownpayment for Vegas recently, so that can be considered fun. I think he is regressing in maturity. At 48, he acts like a toddler or disgruntled teenager.
We have a sports filled weekend. Basketball and futsal today followed by church and then tomorrow dh is taking ds1 to the track and making it home in time for the super bowl which is a big deal since our team is playing.
Haircut for me this morning. I had SO much breakage at the ends and dryness and it looks way better. My hairdresser says I have to come back in 8 weeks to keep working at getting rid of the unhealthy ends.
Now ballet class, then grocery shopping. Tomorrow gym, haircut for DD, watching that super bowl at home. I’m looking forward to an excuse to eat snacks for dinner.
This week at work suuuuucked so I’m enjoying my totally average, not exciting weekend.
DH is working all weekend (boo) so we have nothing really planned. Oldest went off with friends this morning and will be gone most of the day I think. So I’m just hanging with that younger 2. So far we’ve made pancakes and I took the dog for a walk.
Need to do some chores. Kids will probably play with friends. Maybe I’ll take them swimming at the rec center.
Then going to hang with my brother and his family for the super bowl.
I decided to make an investment in my sanity while DH is gone. I hired someone to drop my kids off at school while he is gone. I have it in the budget and it is going to save my sanity
I'm back to working weekends. Hoping to leave the office by 2 today since it is the first official day we are "open". So far I've gotten a ton done since I got in at 9:30 which was later than I planned but everyone including me was sleeping when my alarm went off and I didn't want to be rude and wake anyone up. DD was pissed I was leaving her home with DH as she didn't want to get stuck going with daddy while he just wanders stores because he hates being home and all she wants to do is stay home and chill. Another reason I want to try and get home early today.
Home college gymnastic meet tomorrow at 1 and I'm thinking that DD and I won't go. It takes up our whole day between travel and watching the meet and I really want time at home to prep for next week.
I'm so happy January is finally over. It seemed like the month would never end and had tons of added stress this year.

DS has a basketball tournament this weekend. He played 2 games today and seemed to be feeling fine, so hopefully that means he's better.
DD had a sore throat on Thursday and then woke up with a fever on Friday, and she still had a fever going between 99-100 today. She's was acting fine, though. She even worked on a school project. If her temp is normal tomorrow, and she's feeling up to it, we'll go to at least one of DS's basketball games.
I'm still terrified I'm going to get what they have and be sick my first week at my new job. I've been trying to wash my hands a lot, not touch my face, and take lots of vitamin C and other immune-boosters.
We'll see about the Super Bowl. Because the kids have been sick, we're planning to just watch it at our house, no friends over.
We had basketball today, and they finally won. Then we went out to breakfast. Came home and relaxed for a bit then drove up to an indoor pool. It’s pretty nice pool only 3 feet deep in the main kids area so I don’t worry about them too much and can easy to see them. I got to sit in the hot tub. It’s a bit of a production though because it’s a 40 minute drive one way. Our pool in town doesn’t have zero depth or any play area, and it’s freezing. We tried the one 15 minutes away but it just has one teeny tiny slide like for toddler or a slide for teenagers. I didn’t really see the point to their design.
I had friends doing other things that we weren’t invited to, so part of me wants to post the good times we had at the pool, but I (as always) will refrain from being petty in social media- I wish everyone else would do the same! We are going to Disney on Ice next weekend. Any dress up recommendations for DD or glow in the dark cheaper toys I can get from Amazon, so I don’t have to buy something there?
Apparently today is talk in a louder and louder voice until you’re flat out yelling to get kids to listen day. And also threaten to throw all toys not put away day.
On the good side, Christmas stuff is finally back in the attic. That takes a whopping 5 minutes, but it involves making DH move his car and hand it all up the ladder to me. Getting us both coordinated to do that and catch the kids in the mood where they can be left in the house together alone is challenging.
I’ve had good luck finding glow stick type stuff at Joann Fabric in the toy section. I’ve also ordered glow stick type toys on Amazon in big packs with good results.

Nice - I hate the itchy dresses. Would she be out of place as Rey from Star Wars? We have a Star Wars cub scouts event so she could wear the costume twice but not if she is upset that she is the only Rey and everyone else is a princess.
