I'm still rolling along for my hopeful marathon in May. I would really like to wear a brain aneurysm survivor t shirt that I have for the marathon. It's 60% cotton and 40% polyester. I did my 12 mile training run in it and was fine but I'm wondering if I'm asking for trouble wearing it on marathon day because of how much cotton it is. Anyone ever run a marathon in a cotton shirt and it worked fine?

I haven’t, but not that long ago, everyone wore cotton shirts! I’d try it on your longest run (20 miles?) and see how it goes. But maybe have a Plan B in case it rains on race day.

There are websites where you can design your own tech shirt. I made cancer survivor tech bike jerseys for a charity ride I did. Throwing it out there if you don't want to take the chance.

I personally have always wore a "tech" shirt/tank top but I mean someone ran in one of those T-Rex costumes the year I did the Chicago marathon so totally doable.
I'd try to take it out on a few of your longer runs and see how it goes.

I really don't remember the specifics of what I've worn running my marathons, however I'm pretty sure that I've worn a long sleeve shirt for 1 or 2 and those must've been cotton. I would just wear the shirt on some of your long runs and see how you feel.
I seem to be different than most people. I prefer cotton over dry fit and others when working out or in a heated environment. I just find the cotton more comfortable and that it physically bothers me less while not being so rough on my skin.
