I love MaxPass but as the price has increased, the perks have gone down. They used to have photographers with every character, but those have disappeared. The convenience of booking a Fastpass from anywhere is important, but a lot of the value for me used to be in the PhotoPass part.

One of my friends is a photopass photographer and they have switched focus; now they station them at iconic locations/backdrops instead of with characters. I'm partially blaming the annoying Disneyland instagrammers for this change; they are the ones who post all those stupid photos with very specific backdrops and then people want to copy them.

That’s interesting to know.
The first time we used MaxPass was when my daughter was three. It was so nice to have the better quality photos of her with characters. I like that we can do group photos that aren’t selfies, but I have little need for backdrops.

The maxpass increases are annoying me more than the general price increase though I’m not sure why. Maybe because you get pretty much the same thing (minus the photos) at WDW for free, at least for now. I’ll keep getting it though because I love maxpass and we can’t go all that often so we may as well pay it to have a nicer park day.

Ugh. I was hoping to get max pass for everyone on our next trip. Looks like I will have to do what we did last time and just do max pass for me because of the photo pass. We can’t afford an extra $100/day for our family.

Are you a Sam's club member? The Disney travel blogs all say that they have discounted tickets there.

No, we don't have Sam's Club here. Is there a discount on Max Pass through anyone? We are a family of 5 (6 with my mom)- so an extra $20/per person on top of ticket prices is a lot.

Auto clubs like AAA or the Canadian version CAA usually have discount amusement park tickets.

No discounts on MaxPass but if you can find discounted tickets, the savings will help pay for the $5 price increase on MaxPass.

Okay, this is what I thought. We always get discounted tickets, but the trip as a whole is a stretch for us. Last time we went Max Pass was $10/person and we made the choice to just get it for me and MH became a runner to get fast passes throughout the day. It worked, but I was hoping to avoid that next time. Oh, well. It's nice to have, but not worth the $400+ extra dollars for out next trip
