Has anyone bought patio furniture from costco? How did it hold up?
DH and I have our eye on a tall eating table with 6 chairs that has a firept in the middle but it's made of wicker. It'll be stored in the winter but out all summer. We've never bought furniture from costco so I'm curious how it holds up? It looked nice and was comfortable when we saw it in the store yesterday but at almost $1700 I'm curious actual quality.
doggielover is it true wicker? A lot of what Costco is coming out with is more of a composite that's designed to stand up longer than traditional wicker. My only gripe with the wicker like materials is the cleaning issues surrounding it.
Costco has one of the best return policies out there - they'll return almost everything, no matter when it was purchased, as long as it doesn't fall into a couple categories like electronics or booze. Double check the return policy of course, and it may be a hassle to return a two year old patio set, but as far as I know, they'll take it.

It was listed as wicker on the tag and on the box so I'm assuming it's true wicker. I'm one of those people that after a certain time (like a season) I won't return something. To me it's like I used it the season and don't want to keep it anymore. It's like clothing that after a few wears/washs I'll no longer return if the seam comes undone etc. I think working years in retail did this to me because people used to return used tennis shoes for example just to get a new pair and would lie they weren't worn.
If you're buying expensive(ish) patio furniture that's designed to stay outside, from a reputable company that offers a good return poilcy and said patio furniture can't actually tolerate being on the patio? I would ABSOLUTELY feel okay about returning it.
I wouldn't even put that kind of return in the same category as someone returning shoes and lying about wearing them. You would return it and say "Hey, I bought this patio furniture AND I USED IT and it was a piece of crap."
In reality, you probably wouldn't return it. Costco offers a generous return policy because they, in general, have decent quality stuff. Sure, there are people who take advantage of it, but in general, people just feel MORE comfortable buying it knowing that if, down the road, it doesn't live up to expectations, the store would stand behind it.
We have a large wrought iron look patio table and chair set, a patio sectional, an indoor/family room sectional and a bed from Costco. The only lemon has been the bed and they actually replaced it (it still sucks but that’s not their fault, it’s a crappy bed from Serta they no longer sell). The patio table set is several years old and had held up beautifully and the patio sectional is going into year 3 and looks brand new. It’s the composite wicket/rattan and the structure itself is out all summer. We put the cushions in deck boxes if rain is in the forecast even though they’re Sunbrella, and bring everything inside for the winter. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to buy anything else from Costco!

We have a set from Costco on our screened porch. It’s “all weather “ wicker (aka something man made that has the woven look of wicker). We bought it at least 10 years ago and it’s still rock solid. The cushions are getting a little flat, but that’s to be expected.
Ours is covered by the porch so it’s not fully exposed to the elements, but it does get sun exposure and occasionally gets wet in a windy storm. I have removed and washed the Sunbrella cushion covers many times. We power wash the frames.
I think the brand is Sirio or something like that.
