Ran 5 early and cold miles and finished up my half-assed swim. Now waiting on kids to be done swim lessons while my stomach growls. This will be third breakfast...

What would you eat between activities like this?
Pop-tarts? Just kidding, but we do keep our cars stocked with kid snacks that sometimes include pop-tarts. Mostly nutrigrain bars. Anyway, actual post-workout food/snacks that travel well that I use are apples, raisins, string cheese, and Larabars. I've also been known to cook some oatmeal, toss in some blueberries and bring it with me. Of course it's much better warm than cold, so it depends on the timing.

Today I had two of my homemade larabar style bites pre-run, a bowl of cereal and a handful of nuts post run/preswim. Cereal is NOT CUTTING IT.
Thought the nuts would hold me over but I was wrong.
Maybe oatmeal would stick better. Or some eggy something. Or a smoothie?

Oatmeal doesn't stick very well, though adding butter helps considerably. I've heard good things about egg bites (don't actually know what brand, but you could make your own eggy muffin things). I'm allergic to eggs, so none for me.

Is it too early for lunch?
12 miles for me, this is a step back week in marathon training.
DH took DS to the zoo, so I have had half the morning to myself. It is fabulous.

Crossfit work out done. Omg I hate rowing!
I have lots of work to do this weekend, so I think I'm going to just be a home-body this weekend. I really should motivate myself to at least go for a run sometime tomorrow. I guess I'll get myself mentally prepared now since I've been slacking on my running outside.
I'm up and at a running group person's house with my kids, hanging out with her kids while she and her H potentially win a local club 10 miler. They're both super speedy. Though perhaps slowed down by the 50k last weekend? We'll see if the kids are up for walking down the block to watch them run by in a bit.
She did the same for me a few weeks ago for my trail 10k and I feel like a genius for suggesting swapping race babysitting. Working out swimmingly so far.

I ran 14 trail miles yesterday. Then we had around 50 people over for a Mardi Gras party. It was fun! I’m going to have a slow morning at home while DH does his long run. I may go on a walk and attempt some yoga or something. And clean up from last night.
wawa A bunch of my friends are running that race this morning!

We went for a short family hike today, then I ran home from the park, about 3.5 miles. DS and I have also played a lot of Just Dance 2020 this weekend!
