I just canceled my 5 night reservation, but I'm still holding onto my 2 night weekend reservation over Easter in hopes that just DD and I could make a quick hop.
No changed plans yet - we're in "wait and see" mode.
Same. I feel like a lot could happen in the next few weeks. Since our tickets are non-refundable, there’s no downside to waiting as long as possible to see whether Disney starts offering any ticket extensions or refunds. We have until the 30th to cancel the hotel.
We have a trip planned mid-April to Orlando and are just keeping an eye on things for now. Flights are booked through SW and hotel will be easy to cancel, but I'm curious what Disney will do, if anything.
I had planned to spend March 26-29 in Oakland for 4 days of baseball and then fly to SNA to spend my bday & 4 days at DLR. It seems like there will be no baseball to be seen the 26-29, so I was able to snag a super cheap ticket to SNA on March 27 so as long as things are open I'm still planning 7 days at DLR. I just need to firm up 2 nights at a hotel since my hotel is sold out for those extra dates.
DH was 100% on not canceling and now he's reconsidering too. DD is going to be so disappointed because we've hyped this trip up for months. I'm especially annoyed that if we change the date of our trip (which is what will likely happen with Disney tickets/airline tickets) we are going into the hottest time of year for Florida and that sounds so miserable. We chose this month for a reason.
Would people really want to be in a place like DL or WDW right now?
Well, it puts people in a tough spot when they’ve been saving for a very long time to go on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, and now they have to decide if they are willing to lose all of that money if they cancel.
Well, my thoughts have definitely changed over the past few days, and I was at DL last week! We have a trip in April planned and I can’t imagine we’ll be going. We can cancel for free up until 3 days before, so I’ll wait to cancel for now, but I don’t expect to go.
Really though, I think Disney and related hotels and travel services need to work with people to allow for rescheduling. Sick people will be going to the parks because they don’t want to lose all that money. It’s not good for anyone, and if Disney is the source of an outbreak, it will not be good for them. I think it would be very wise to be flexible with reschedules, in whatever way it needs to happen. I also think that both parks should allow for a “hold” on annual passes so that people aren’t going, but also aren’t losing out on time.

Even if the parks reopen in April, there’s a minuscule chance we’d go, unless cases in the U.S. miraculously level off. I don’t expect that to happen though.
I’m just waiting to see whether the closures are extended so we can get our money back.
