I am feeling super accomplished this morning. I left the house with a crockpot running, dishwasher going, and ROOMBA doing it's thing. I will come home to a mildly cleanish house. Since dinner will be done, except rolls, I can mop and throw in the laundry I need to do. Not bad for a working Wednesday.
Signed, mom thankful for modern conveniences . (probably brought on by a book I just read from the perspective of Caroline Ingalls. No thank you to cooking in a fireplace, making clothes, hand washing clothes, no running water, and being responsible for all of the food from earth to table.)
Dear WPs, I'm exhausted. I think I slept for an hour total last night, and not much more the night before. Coronavirus stress is killing me. My head is spinning, I'm trying to write statements that we can send out for any scenario we end up with regarding my trip, and I have literally no idea what we are doing because information keeps changing daily. And I'm supposed to get on a plane on Saturday. Right now, I'm envisioning that I'll get on my plane, arrive early to try and set up, and then have to try and cancel everything from the hotel before everyone else gets there next week. Layer on the insane amount of money we'll be out if we cancel this thing, and I'm ready to throw up. Signed, Wish me luck

Dear Spouse and Family,
Why am I the receptacle for all y’alls problems with the Democratic Party? News flash: you can also vote. This is a closed primary state so if you want to have an opinion in the primaries, the best way would be to change your independent registration (fine, you “don’t like any of them”, but you’re not having much influence over there) or admit you haven’t been a republican in like 15 years (looking at you, H) and actually vote in the primary instead of badgering next about it. That would be 4 votes to my 1.
Good luck at your appointment today. I hope your doctor isn't a complete jackwagon and actually realizes that there's something wrong.
Signed, Your daughter who loves you, even though you think I'm being a turd.
Dear sister,
Thank you for taking time off work to go to her appointment after all. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, don't allow or encourage her to explain away the events of the last week with a combination of needing new glasses and her GPS not working properly like you've been doing in our text thread.
Even if those were contributing factors, that does not explain the lack of judgment that would allow her to undertake a 1300 mile journey KNOWING that she can't see and doesn't know how to work her GPS.

Dear Soccer Club,
Seriously?!?! Registration has only been opened for a week and is completely full? But I was on vacation! PLEASE, please take my kids. All of their friends are in this league and they'd be devastated if they don't get to play. And we are too late for community league soccer registration. DS has said that if he can't play soccer, he'll do spring hockey. I really do not want another 3 months of hockey. Please, please take them!
Signed, Mom who coached last year so hoping that bought some goodwill?
Dear Potential Candidates,
Please be good. We need people.
Signed, Cautiously hopeful
Dear Nanny,
I'm starting to realize more and more that we have very different values. While I love that you are energetic and great with DD, I'm really starting to question whether you are a good influence on her.
Signed, Resigned to the fact that I probably won't be able to find a better nanny
Well, that conversation got crazy. You have an insubordinate, unprofessional employee that you refuse to deal with, and you're letting her nutty kid get away with murder. So I'm taking your advice and sitting down with your boss, if he ever returns my calls. And I'm also going to the Archdiocese. I know they think you're awesome, but I'm going to give them my side. And it was really good information when you told me that you'd report me to CPS again, even knowing that the accusation that put you over the edge was false. So that's super. I'm glad I know that now.

Dear MIL,
No, it's not a good idea to let someone from your apartment building who just got evicted to stay in your apartment/sleep on your couch for an undetermined period of time. You haven't known this person long, and knowing you, because you're gullible, you'd believe any lie they told you. I hope you give her a timeframe for finding a permanent place that is not your apartment. I only say all this for your safety and because I'm afraid she's taking advantage of you (and that's the kind of people you seem to gravitate towards in your desperation for people to like you).

mae0111, I'm sorry your going through the contractor issues and still issues with the principal. Does the principal not realize that he/she can get fined and/or go to prison for submitting false CPS reports?
I am really sorry your school failed you and your DD. I know you want to see justice, but let's face it the principal's boss is probably going to label you the "crazy" parent. As this is a private school I don't see much happening here. I really think you guys should look into changing schools again. I don't think you will ever feel comfortable there after all of this. Hope you guys find some peace for your DDs
Dear a few clients Please stop referring to me as the secretary. I'm a business partner and will probably end up doing your taxes. Just because I answer the phone 75% of the time and great you at the door doesn't mean that is my only roll as I wear many hats. Signed cranky business partner who has been called secretary 4 times in less than a week
Dear WPs I've always dressed conservatively and old fashioned so my clients would take me seriously when I started doing this in my early 20s. Fast forward to today and I'm now 37 and still dress the same way and I feel just old and frumpy. I really don't know what to change and I know now isn't the right time to do anything but I just am feeling really blue. New summer wardrobe in my future but I have no clue what to look for? Me
I'm sorry I told you we wouldn't need snow chains for our drive from the mountains this weekend, since it's been our driest February on record and had been 60 degrees there when we left. I agree that it's a good policy to have them in case the forecast changes (like it did, and there was tons of snow).
Signed, even though all the highway advisories said we needed them, we still didn't, so I was right, but I won't be pointing that out given how stressed he was about it
Dear WPs,
I ordered a new living room couch and console table months ago and they're finally being delivered today. And we put down the new rug last night, which I love.
Signed, so excited to have something to focus on besides work, the stock market, and coronavirus
Also Dear WPs,
We are potty training 2.75-year-old DS2 this weekend. Please send any advice for getting it over with quickly.
Signed, you'd think I'd be better at this by my third kid

Dear sdlaura , Best of luck. DD will be 3 on Monday and does not give 2 shits about potty training. If she doesnt initiate it by the end of April I'm forcing it since she goes to school at the end of July. Signed, a mom who brings boys are easier to train than girls
Dear DD, HOW are you going to be 3?! When you do turn 3 on Monday, can you just magically wake up and begin following directions immediately? You are a funny kid and your personality is so entertaining. 2 has been challenging and I'm hoping 3 is better. Love, your mama who laughs at you way too much
Dear Self, You kicked ass on painting the fireplace and it looks awesome. Love, your inner Joanna Gaines wannabe
xctsclrx - I’m totally the crazy parent. Unfortunately we don’t have a lot of options left. The public school option in our town is terrible. Good schools, but we wound up with a crappy district, and she wound up with a crappy class. And the other private school options are quite literally 5x the cost. We’ve remained in the town for a lot of reasons (lower taxes, town-owned utilities so we pay 1/2 of what surrounding towns pay)
Next year we will prep for middle school applications, and there are a lot more options. But we have to limp through one more year. Luckily her teachers are truly wonderful. 4th and 5th grade are team taught, so she will have the same 2 teachers next year. She gets all outstandings for her conduct and effort, and her lowest grade on her last report card was a 95. She is getting a good education, but the social stuff stinks.
twinmomma, I wouldn't want to cancel from a hotel. I would give yourself the deadline of making a decision by Friday morning. Good Luck. I was thinking you were fine- ish, then I read the news. I think no one wants to be THAT person, you know. Ugh- So hard. Is anything refundable at all? Are the higher ups giving you any direction on this? What do they want to do?
erinshelley21 my daughter was definitely easier. Maybe it's just the oldest kid can be easier? She also had a daycare provider who did a lot of it for us. I wouldn't be pushing it immediately (because I'm lazy), if we weren't expecting another kid in 3 months. I want to give him some time to have it sink in before I'm dealing with a newborn.

I really think this has to be a legal/finance decision, not up to you. Legal because they should want to cover their rear ends in the event that someone contracts the virus from the travel, let alone dies. Finance because of the cost of cancelling. It shouldn't be up to you.
186momx I would invest in some really great quality dresses and simple heels. Quality clothes just fit, wash, and lay better and they will make you look more polished. Boden has a great selection. Read the reviews, they are very helpful, and then watch out for a sale and buy one or two pieces at a time until you have a solid work wardrobe. A lot of their dresses can transition easily from summer to winter with a cardigan or nice blazer.
How can you be impervious to every cold medicine I try? Something should work! All I ask is for one working nostril!
Dear self,
Good job getting to work today and not being a complete mess. But tomorrow you have to actually get some work done. String two thoughts together and just do it.
I’m so sorry. Agree with what the others said re: finance and legal being involved. But just cancel. A lot of companies are shutting down non-essential travel. Is anyone even going to be allowed to attend?
Signed, Lady whose conference in Seattle just got canceled
sdlaura, waverly, It's definitely not my final call, thank god, but I'm the one on the front lines fielding questions and in charge of writing the statements and doing the research right now. Execs are split on what to do based on their own research too and have settled on a "wait and see" attitude right now.
Beau keeps reminding me that this is entirely out of my control, I'm not the one who personally caused us to lose the money if it happens, and I have to just see how it plays out. But that is not my personality at all and it's killing me that I don't have a solid plan. It's so draining. I really need to just step away from the internet and let it be for a bit, but I'm struggling to do that.
Once my sinuses feel like glue I stop using decongestants and switch to an expectorant which thins mucus (usually in the lungs but I am betting both places). I also got a saline spray from my chiro but you can buy them and make your own- she put an oil in it and I looked, and it doesn’t say which (not peddling oils). Neti pot will help a lot too.
