All the rest of the furniture is a creamy white, so probably that. I think we'll eventually paint the room a dark blue so the creamy white would be a good contrast.

Oh that sounds lovely!  I love that you're making such good use of otherwise awkward spaces.  And you're giving me built-in jealousy; thinking about doing bookshelves in one of our rooms but am scared of the cost.

RockNVoll, my H had a heart attack when I told him the price, but I think he's in such sticker shock right now anyway, that I was able to convince him to do it.

That would be my H. We just put new carpet in and H let me know that he told the carpenter to build on top of it. It's fine but not what I would have done. H was home so he made the call.
