Our new master has 2 identical vanities but just one sink. While the vanities match and are beautiful, the one without the sink is lacking in storage because the drawers are made to account for plumbing. I’d love to turn the back into full drawers. Even better would be to make the top faux drawer functional. I’ve searched for tutorials but they are all making dressers or similar into vanities to account for plumbing, not the reverse. Andy ideas?
How handy are you? If you aren’t, I would talk to a cabinet maker. They would remove the false fronts, build custom drawers to suit the size, and install rails for the drawers as well. It is all certainly doable with some nails and glue. I just wouldn’t have the tools and the precise know how to do it myself.

My husband says he can do it but I am not confident! I need some other cabinetry so I’ll ask them another this as well.
You can buy custom-made drawer boxes from this site, which even sells different rail configurations: www.cabinetdoorworld.com/dovetail-drawer-boxes/. All you would need to do is install them and you wouldn't need as many tools.
