Friends and I played blank slate on zoom last night. Wanted to look for some other ideas of games people have played. It’s funny bc we all live so far from each other (this particular group) and just started doing this and I think it will be a more common thing even when we aren’t stuck inside

If you only have 2 people playing, Battleship works great by video chat. We are going to try Settlers of Catan with some friends tonight but that’s going to be a hard set up...
@ds and a friend would do Candyland, Chutes & Ladders and Uno thru FaceTime with a friend who had moved away when they were around Kindergarten age.
We've been doing this for years with one set of friends. Settlers of Catan is one of our regulars. You need to each have a board and one needs to do the setup and have the other copy it (also, make sure your camera isn't flipped so it's not a mirror image. We've had that issue before) We just have everyone manage their own resources rather than having one person be the "banker."
I think it definitely works best with a game that each side has, so that's a challenge, but it's a fun way to hang out.
Codenames! It's a little tricky because one group needs to send the other group a pic of the cards laid out, but other than that it was pretty easy and super fun.
We're doing Settlers of Catan tonight with my cousins. We both have copies, so we'll duplicate each others' boards. It was a little complicated to set up the boards exactly the same way, but we did that part in advance this afternoon.

ooh, that’s our favorite for game nights and I totally see how you could make it work.
The HouseParty app has built in games. I find the connectivity to be better than Zoom too.
Thank you for recommending this! I had heard of the app but didn’t know there were games! Game changer No pun intended. Sending to my friends and SO now.

We actually just hosted a Trivial Pursuit (the actual board game) with my family tonight
The free version allows you to have custom games with up to 3 players. The base game is ~$4 to purchase and up to 4 players can play. They also have expansion packs, seafarers, etc. for an additional cost. There are 'scrolls' where you can get 1-day access to the games for free.
We've set up an online game and then called/video chatted with friends while playing. Much easier than setting up a board and I love that it auto distributes the resource cards to everyone
Warning: Their servers get overloaded sometimes, so patience may be required. Their user base more than doubled with everyone stuck at home.

We created a room in Switch for Mario Kart, then had everyone video chat via another platform. I saw Cards Against Humanity has an online game (assume it's all adults on the call). I'm intrigued by virtual Battleship now.
Here's a list of online games a friend of mine created. I haven't checked them all out, so can't guarantee the accuracy. We played Dominion with some friends the other day and had a google hangout going at the same time so we could talk. It worked pretty well.
