About 4 days ago the stone fell out of my right hand ring. Since then the prongs have been scratching me and catching on everything but I can't get this ring off!
I've tried soap, olive oil, lotion. I've soaked my hand in ice water and wrapped the finger in floss, ribbon and Scotch tape. Its super painful and I don't feel like it's close to coming off.
Any other ideas/tricks? Dh is looking at ring cutters online. I'd prefer to not go that route.
Update-Dh cut it off this morning. It was pretty easy to do and with the little gap I was able to slide it off. Thanks for all the ideas & suggestions!

Give it a rest for a while, then try the cold water thing again, and then raise your arm over your head for a few minutes, then lotion or soap or oil or whatever you prefer. Good luck. But really if you've been messing with it for any length of time you're just increasing swelling, so give it a lot of breaktime. Good luck!

This happened to me around Christmas and the only thing that worked was using a thin ribbon doing the floss trick. I tried so many things at once that my finger was swollen, so I had to wait until the next day.
This happened to my wedding rings recently, mostly due to weight gain. I tried everything for weeks to get them off, ultimately what worked was holding my hand above my head for 10 minutes or so, then washing with tons of soap in very cold water and twisting the rings while pulling. I tried the floss thing multiple times too and would panic when my finger started turning red. Good luck!!
I don't have any Windex. Not sure Method glass cleaner would work the same but I may give it a shot. I'm going to drink extra water today. The finger looks swollen today, probably from all the pulling yesterday.

In addition to whatever method you'll try tomorrow or later today, start taking an anti-inflammatory med like advil? And take some omega 3 or eat nuts today. Clenching and unclench fists, keep that arm higher than the rest of your body. Squish the finger above where the ring is. Good luck!
Things that might contain ammonia if you don't have windex (not sure of their safety: toilet bowl cleaner, floor polish, drain cleaner - maybe look at your cleaning products.
Do you have a ring that more easily slides on and off but is still fitted? I had luck once putting that Ring on top of the stuck one and then getting the stuck one off by sliding it up with the ring on top. Does that make sense?

Makes sense but the stuck ring has a large square setting with diamonds around it so I can't layer another ring on top.

Will still take more ideas!
I’ve used method, it works with a bit of twisting, but Windex is still faster
