Lolol. A book all about how trump is a cheat at golf and therefore a terrible person and a cheat at winning the presidency. Sounds entertaining and apparently well written.
It's even funnier that I found this on the south China morning post.

Jared Kushner encouraged Trump to push back against Gov. Cuomo after Cuomo said New York was short 30,000 ventilators, VF reports. In a White House meeting around this time, Kushner told people that Cuomo was being an alarmist.

Also, Trump needs a distraction so he’s threatening Iran again:
Good God, Kushner's such a little shit. Unsurprisingly he hasn't changed his slumlord ways and still demanding full rent for his lower middle class properties.
This probably makes me a bad person, but I can see his point.
That cruise had no business embarking (I know it was 3 weeks ago but we knew exactly how bad things were 3 weeks ago), and they should apply to whatever country the business is shadily registered under. And then people should think about why maybe we should want Cruise lines to have to follow US labor laws in the future.

So if you're a resident of, say, Tennessee, you just have to hope another country takes pity on you? I agree that they should have never embarked, but what's done is done.
ETA: Also, I had no idea that there are at least 15 cruise ships stuck at sea (from the article).
During the reporter q&a after DeWine’s briefing at 2:00 today, one of the questions was about HL remaining open. DeWine seemed pissed and wrote something down. Then the AG sent this around 4:30.

Right? Someone need to take the people off at this point. It sounds lile they snuck through the Panama canal?! (Passengers were told to shut windows and keep lights off). That sounds scary to me.

I agree except the Americans should be let off. *never been on a cruise, but in a landlocked state

If you are a US citizen, you should not be refused entry to your county. Florida is not it’s own country.
I didn't think it was legal to refuse to allow US citizens/permanent residents back into the country. Where else are they supposed to go?
The article in The NY Times I read said they were letting all US citizens to enter through Florida.
That must be updates from what I saw. That’s great. I didn’t think it was legal for a state to refuse entry. The port is run by the federal government. They are Us citizens!

Panama gave the Zaandam special permission to traverse the canal (presumably so they would stop hanging around of their coast). I don't know about the lights and windows, but given how the canal is operated there is no way a ship could just sneak through the canal.
I've been on a Panama cruise, and it's a series of locks that have to be operated by the canal authority, the ships have to be navigated through the canals through specially trained crew because it's such a tight fit, and in at least some places they hook the ships up to these little train cars on the banks that provide tension on both sides to keep the ship from drifting and slamming into the side of the canal.

The Secret Service has signed a $45,000 contract to rent a fleet of golf carts in Northern Virginia, saying it needed them quickly to protect a "dignitary" in the town of Sterling, home to one of Trump's golf clubs, according to federal contracting data

Oh okay. Interesting. Wonder what the deal was then
I don't know, I didn't see the article that talked about that. When we went through it started pretty early in the morning and it was an *EVENT* that lasted pretty much all day. Everyone gathering on deck to watch all the parts of the process, taking pictures, socializing with each other, waving at people on other ships. You have to queue up behind all the other ships going through too, and each lock can only move so many ships at once, so it takes awhile.
There are also various people working on the banks and in the little median between the two locks (it's kind of hard to explain, but there is basically there are two locks, sort of like two lanes, and they are separated by a flat barrier where part of the ship moving process is going on, and crew might be running around on that median doing stuff). The distance between that barrier and the ship is inches. Maybe they wanted windows closed to help ensure social distancing? Like this isn't a fun thing to watch this time through, it's all business, stay inside, don't try to engage the crew?
The White House Correspondents Association has voted to remove One America News Network from the press briefing rotation after one of the outlet's reporters broke social-distancing guidelines amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Some companies that publicly announced that they would be paying store associates for their scheduled hours during store closures, first reduced their hours to zero or near zero to avoid paying them.

Ann Taylor is also a terrible company for their human labor practices on where they source their clothing factories. So this doesn't surprise me at all.
