We are in the middle of it. We have a Southeast Asia trip for May. Right now we are being told we can’t get a refund. The countries we are going to have travel bans in place until 4-30 and we are scheduled to arrive on 5-1.
So we are being told unless they extend the travel ban we are out of luck.
We canceled our big trip to Puerto Rico that was going to be the first week of May.
JetBlue had no cancelation fees and the money spent we got back as a credit to use within 18 months (kind of annoyed to just get a credit vs a refund, but better than nothing).
Airbnb told me the refund is up to the host, and I'll find out within 48 hours if they'll give me back my money or not...
Keep fighting with Airbnb if the host denies you. I escalated my host's refusal to refund and Airbnb finally (albeit slowly) refunded all of the money.
I have a house booked through HomeAway for my nephew's graduation in May. I need to cancel it and hope I get my money back...it isn't paid in full but I've paid about $475 towards it and I need that back.
We had to cancel two so far. One for tomorrow (SOB) to see a concert but I hadn't bought tickets yet. I was easily able to cancel the flight and hotel room, though both were on points. Also had to cancel a trip later in the month but I had only bought the flights as the hotel was through DS's work. I'm guessing they got their money back.
I still have one in last June planned as well as September. Just biding my time. I'm also unemployed, so may not get to take them for that reason either.

American Airlines completed refunded no questions asked. (Flight was leaving this Sunday, canceled 3 weeks ago). Delta waived our flight change fee. Airbnb let us change and gave us a discount so i am happy
We have had to cancel a Europe trip in June. As of now the Airbnb owner has only refunded 50%; the policy for Airbnb generally is to fully refund stays through April 14th and are telling people with later date trips to sit tight. I appealled to the owner directly and he is holding fast on the non-cancellation policy and won't give up the remainder. He said the first 50% was a show of "good will" even though all he was doing was following the policy in place. I'm super annoyed with this host and will be leaving a negative review if this doesn't get fully resolved. Hoping when we get closer to June we can appeal further and get the second 50% refunded.
Airline so far is only offering credit which kind of sucks because we used partial points so they have lost some value from when we booked.
This one is hard, because June is so far away. I think most places are being less lenient with cancellations that far out because a lot could change between now and then - I don't think any major hotel or airline companies are extending their cancellations that far out either.
If this is still as big of an issue at the end of June as it is now, I'm sure airBNB will extend their refund policy then as well.
March - trip to DC. Officially cancelled. Air was booked on AA points. AA refunded all points plus taxes I paid back to my credit card. Super easy call with AA. Hotel cancelled with no penalty.
May - Cruise to the Mexican Rivera on Carnival. Technically this is a go but I’m just waiting for Carnival to cancel. At that point we should be able to get a full refund but sounds like it can take 90 days to process. Air was booked on AA. Hopeful I can get this refunded vs AA travel credit as I already have a ton of points.
June - trip to Chicago to take my DD to a BTS concert. Officially cancelled. Air booked using Southwest points. Southwest refunded all points and fees. Super easy. Hotel cancelled with no penalty. Booked concert tickets through Stubhub. Concert at this point is postponed so they won’t refund. Sounds like if cancelled I might just get stubhub credit.
We canceled a trip to Costa Rica April 14-18. AirBnB gave a full refund, but our host offered a full refund of the deposit until 2 weeks before anyway, even before this. I had booked 2 day trips through Urban Adventures, who offered 120% towards a future booking or full cash refund. I took the full refund since I had booked for another couple as well and idk if they'll be able to come if/when we rebook. Flights were not an issue - we fly standby with H's airline and we can always change/cancel those reservations anytime for free.
I was supposed to be at Disneyland today for my birthday. I was to be in CA from 3/26-4/2. Southwest gave flight credit for everything and the hotel was fully refunded. It was a smooth process, thankfully.
We had to cancel our spring break trip to the Caribbean and it's been a bit of a pain. The hotel said they would refund us but they haven't yet. The airline policy is travel has to start one year from the booking date, which for us is July...who even knows if a trip will be possible then? So annoying.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
We were supposed to drive to the beach this coming weekend for the week, that's cancelled. The owner and the property management company are not playing nice about giving refunds, even though the state real estate commission has said all owners/landlords need to give refunds since the islands are closed to visitors. So that's been a fun fight.
At the end of April, first weekend of May we had tickets to a music festival which has been cancelled. They made the refund request incredibly easy, although they say it can take up to a month to get your money back, which fine whatever, as long as it's on its way back! The hotel was also extremely easy to cancel for that trip. So yay for Homewood suites and DWP festivals.
We cancelled a driving trip to Nashville. We booked a house through AirBNB, and it qualified for the dates they were offering full refunds.
We have a weekend trip in early June also driving. Not sure who we booked with, and we haven’t tried to cancel yet. And we have a house rented for after the 4th if July. I’m hoping the July trip will be after the shelter in place ends. It’s in the country, so we can easily social distance ourselves. But the June one I think is definitely out because we’ll still be in shelter in place.

We canceled a trip to Florida, United refunded all our points, air B&B refunded our full deposit, DH hasn’t canceled our car rental yet, but he has the highest status with Hertz (thanks to work travel), so hopefully he won’t have trouble.
Sun Country airline cancelled the June 14 flight to Florida. They sent out a “we will give you credit toward a future flight” email but when I called to request the full refund to which I am entitled, they buckled immediately.
I cancelled a cruise and received a credit for future travel. It was only a few hundred dollars so I'm fine with that.
I had a Disney trip and got full refunds of everything associated with that. I'm an annual passholder so no ticket cost. My pass will be extended for whatever amount of time they end up closed.
I have a trip planned to visit DD in June and will likely have to cancel that as well, but I made sure everything was refundable.

We were traveling for an event that has been postponed until 2021. It is a huge event, Euro 2020 soccer tournament, that booking early was necessary. Even if travel restrictions were relaxed, I would still not be attending and need to cancel. I'm going to wait until I bring it up again.
We own a vacation rental in Asheville NC. We are refunding 100% no questions asked. We've had the last three weeks of March, all of April, most of May and one June reservation cancel. Luckily, we are still able to operate without the revenue. It just seems wrong to hold the money hostage when the guests are also experiencing economic anxieties.
We had a WestJet vacation package booked for Mexico this week
We booked last fall so we qualified for a “refund” but they were only offering it in a travel credit. We got an invoice showing that the airline had cancelled it due to Covid, but my user ID wasn’t connected to my trip for some reason, so they didn’t refund the points. When I called them they advised that since we haven’t received the points yet, we can try going through our credit card for a refund for services not rendered. So we’ve done that, and we’ll see what happens. If that doesn’t go through then we’ll just settle for the airline points which must be used in the next 24 months. We’ll probably re-book the same trip next spring.
I cancelled a house rental for April break (via Homeaway, but final payment was with the realty company) in Florida. When I first called, they only said I could be refunded IF they could re-rent it for that week. LOL. I decided to wait it out. Then a week or two later, a credit to rebook was offered for later in the year. I finally sent a nice email about how I can't really take my kids out of school in the fall (the only time we could really go) after missing 1/4 of this year and they finally refunded it minus $150 in fees. It was over $4k so PHEW. Flights are via Southwest and it looks like we can use that credit until June 2021 so that's fine.
However we have a DVC points rental and flights via American to DL in June that I'm not sure are refundable. The other reason we were going out there was for an event that was cancelled (we live on the opposite coast) and it's not really something I want to rebook if that's the offer...right now they are offering to rebook or get a credit for the DVC points for those booked in April, because the resorts are closed, but I'm worried they will reopen and we won't have that option. Plus Disney is going to be jammed over the next year I bet now, with all these people pushing out their trips. This is over $5k with flights and I'm also facing a potential layoff so would LOVE that back.
We canceled our trip to New Orleans that was supposed to happen in April. We did it really early on, and just got a voucher for future airfare, but I know we will use it. We hadn’t made the Airbnb reservation yet.
H also had to cancel a business trip, and I was supposed to go to NYC this weekend, but that would have just been by bus, lol.
We had to cancel our 10 day trip to Oregon next week. Our flights were through Delta - I had used Skymiles to purchase five of the tickets and miles + cash to purchase the sixth ticket. They gave me back all of my miles and all of the cash I spent with no issue. We had one hotel night in our departing city and the rental car reserved with free cancellation so no issues there. Our lodging in Oregon was through RCI. They gave us a credit for the $179 we paid to exchange our timeshare week which we will use to rebook the trip for next year. So in the end we didn't lose any money.

WE had a flight for next week, purchased through the Chase app with a combo of points and cash with United. Called Chase and was on hold 5 hours but got through. It was easy peasy after that. WE have a credit that we have to spend by Dec 31 and we need to fly by Feb 22 2021 (the original ticket purchase date). Hopefully we will be able to do it.
We had to cancel our vrbo rental for May. As requested by the owner we waited as long as possible but earlier this week we went ahead and cancelled. There was no issue to get our full deposit back, however; due to the large amount of refunds being requested it will take a few weeks. Luckily, we had not bought tickets to the amusement parks so we were good there.
Well, my cousins just cancelled their late-May wedding and rescheduled for NEXT May. (I feel so badly for them!) So I'll have to rebook those flights, but don't plan on doing so until much closer to the date. We were staying with family, so fortunately no hotel to worry about.
