I have been flying through audio books (thanks to quarantinetime Animal Crossing paying).
-Mr. President and Commander in Chief both by Katy Evans -This Time Together: Laughter and Reflections (audio) by Carol Burnett -Over the Top: A Raw Journey to Self-Love (audio) by Jonathan Van Ness -Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy by Mike Love (now I can't stop listening to their music!) -Lit: A Memoir (audio) by Mary Karr -Little Weirds (audio) by Jenny Slate
I read The Girl with the Louding Voice and Like Water for Chocolate. Both 4 stars for me. I'm about to start The Broken Girls right after I'm done posting here.
QOTW: Do you mean the concept of pets wouldn't exist or that dogs, cats, etc. wouldn't exist? I could live in a world with pet-like animals and not have any as pets (probably) but I'd choose no electronics over dogs, cats, etc. not existing. I'd still be able to read books.
I'm slowly making my way through The Intimate Bond: How Animals Shaped Human History, by Brian Fagan. It's interesting but not a "compelling" read or anything so it's taking a while to get through it. This is the last of the books DH gave me for Xmas. They tend to get put aside when a library hold would come in so it took a while to go through them all.
QOTW: No electronics in a heartbeat. I cannot live without my kitties. I love them far too much and they bring such joy to me.
I finished Turn of The Key by Ruth Ware, 3*. I'm currently reading Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano and Because of Winn-Dixie (reading this with my kids).
QOTW: That's a hard one. However, considering we live such a long distance from my family and given that electronics are saving my family during quarantine (work and school from home) I'd go with a world with no pets.
The Ten Thousand Doors of January: 5 stars The Mermaid by Christina Henry: 3 stars. It was ok. It was another book I made myself finish instead of stopping 1/4 of the way in.

I finished "Saving Megan" and started "A Nearly Normal Family", and still plugging away at Daisy Jones. I'm going to do immerson reading for the last two, it helped me fly through the first one.
QOTW: That's a toughy, I guess I'd rather have pets, although I need a phone to keep in touch with family even pre-Corona.
I finished Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson, which was very weird and very enjoyable, and am now reading The Stranger Diaries by Elly Griffiths. I started it once a while back and couldn’t get into it, but I like it this time around.
QOTW: I can’t. I need the pets and the modern conveniences.
I read All the Flowers in Paris by Sarah Jio (3/5 stars). It was pretty good. It's set in Paris during WWII and connects a woman from that era to a woman in the current day. I thought there were some odd parts to the story that really required a serious suspension of reality but it was relatively a good read.
I'm currently reading The Room on Rue Amelie by Kristin Harmel. It's another Europe-during-WWII book. They're starting to run together but it came up from my hold list at the library and I felt compelled to read it. lol!
QOTW: No electronics, hands down! But I don't consider lights to be electronics. Now living without electricity is different. But I'd much rather have my cats (and dog) then my phone or computer or television if I had to make that choice.

This week I finished The Duke and I by Julia Quinn. It was OK. I won it on a goodreads giveaway. There were some parts that were cringy. It's going to be a Netflix series so I will probably check it out.
I started reading Bookish and the Beast by Ashley Poston. It's another goodreads giveaway and an ARC.
QOTW: I don't currently have pets and don't plan on getting any so I'd go with pets.
I finished We Sold Ours Souls by Grady Hendrix. It was good but probably my least favorite of his books so far. He has a new one out that I plan on reading in a few weeks.
I started 2 of the freebie books I got for World Book Day: I gave up on The Price of Paradise about 10% in. It just wasn't holding my attention and the writing felt really flat. Maybe it was the translation? Hard Rain is set in Tanzania, which makes it a little more interesting than a standard thriller. I am about halfway through.
QOTW: If you hadn't included lights I might have said no electronics but I think I would have to give up pets. That's a hard one though!
