It's pervasive in this time of pandemic.
One of my husband's clients was hit in her corporate account and one of his co-workers called him today to let him know that he received a letter from the unemployment office stating his benefits were being reviewed and processed. He never applied for UE.
Check to see your state UE if you have an application pending, if you've not applied. If you've been compromised, contact the UE office *by email* to let them know and then by snail mail to confirm (as backup.) Also, if you haven't done so already, freeze your credit. I believe it was the client who found out they also tried to apply for a credit card in her name.

Yes I've been seeing this warning. Apparently a lot of people are signing up on the UE website (but not applying for benefits) just to lock in their SSN and/or to make sure it has not already been used to apply for benefits by a scammer.
