I've cut DH's hair twice now. It's the first time I ever used a pair of clippers. He's half Asian so it's pretty straight, but it kind of grows around in a curve on the top and the top is thinning (I haven;t cut the top, just the sides and back). I'm not good with the blending. But it looks fine for what we are doing LOL. I have long hair so I don't get it cut often but I did get it colored a few weeks ago.
dr.girlfriend that’s so pretty!! I would love to have that but there is no way I could DIY that.
I did also buy a extreme blue but haven’t tried it. They’re both sample sizes since I kind of figured that wouldn’t really work but it would be fun to give it a go.
I watched a lot of YouTube videos last night, lol, and a lot of people said that the blue ends up looking purple anyway because for dark hair the highlights are reddish, and the red natural highlights and blue pigment end up looking purple. And then I got sidetracked by "blackberry hair":
dr.girlfriend I want that hair!! I should look on YouTube tonight as a part of my mindless internet staring
I learned a new word -- balayage? Sounds like just a fancy word for highlights, but apparently they lightened the parts that they made purple and then made them purple specifically. I have to keep in mind, though, all these women have beautifully blown out and curled hair and mine will NEVER look like that, lol.

I love that!!!! But I'm dark blond, so its something I can't do, but I really love that. It's warm and subtle but beautiful and fun.
ETA: man, I made no sense so figured I should fix it, lol

Oooh that makes sense to have the color on areas that have been lightened. Interesting they say it fades to lavender.
I’m wondering if the color will adhere/show on my grey as a lavender but not otherwise. From what I’ve read though about the ov.ertone it’s a crap shoot about whether it will adhere to grey because of the texture of the hair (or something along those lines).
