Talk to me about pre-workouts. I’ve never taken them before, but I’m interested in adding them before my bike rides (Echelon — equivalent to Peleton) to get a little more out of my workouts. I also do some jogging, but probably wouldn’t use it before my runs. I might use it if I ever go back to OTF?
I've never been a runner (Unless I've had to for work) or cyclist. I once asked a friend of mine who loves to run about him taking a preworkout and he asked me why would you want to raise your heart rate and ect for a workout which does that on its own. Makes sense to me. I lift weight and use preworkout to get my blood flowing and give me energy.
Now saying that, ive had a hard time with preworkouts in general. Too much caffeine and stimulants have made me sick, or worked so well I have side effects (Extremely tingly skin and too much energy). I've moved to more of a "pump" type preworkout which gets the blood flowing but usually has less stimulants. I've done more research on preworkout supplements than anything else because of this and I recommend everyone do the same
So what do you want from this? Energy? Circulation? Natural supplements?

I work with a college track and field team.
None of our athletes take pre workout before workouts and our dietician doesn't recommend it, if that gives you any indication of its use in the higher skill level endurance sport area.
I don't know if this counts as the same thing - but in the morning before long runs I take UCan. Mostly because I haven't eaten yet and can't go run anything over 3 miles without fuel. It doesn't bother my stomach on really long runs and no digestive issues or heartburn. So mostly I'm using it as meal replacement that is quick and won't cause problems during my workout. It is...not tasty. Lol.
