We are (surprisingly) using our front patio all the time, and I’d like to get some nice furniture for it. I’d like to get four chairs and two side tables or 2 chairs, a sofa, and side tables. We use the space for so much stuff — reading, using our solo stove fire pit, eating snacks, playing with toys. There are a lot of trees so it’s shaded and breezy. My requirements for the chairs: - nothing that leans too far back. Right now I have some plastic Adirondack chairs from Lowe’s and they lean too far back - have 1-2 coordinating ottomans (I prefer my feet up, my husband doesn’t) - comfortable, wide seat - nothing that holds moisture (thin, quick dry cushion is okay but not bulky cushions that stay wet) - won’t stain with tree droppings, fire pit, etc. Suggestions? I am at a loss. Show me your favorites!
I have this inexpensive set from Overstock. Overstock has tons of options at reasonable prices. It's not the most luxurious set but comfortable. The cushions are thin - a priority since I don't have much storage. No ottomans but I always put my feet on the coffee table! I also got two metal barrel end tables for a pop of color with an outdoor rug. You could find some colorful ottomans too.
We have a really cheap rattan wicker set that we got at Gordman’s, I think. They’re comfortable and use the inexpensive cushions that you can buy anywhere. We actually frequently use them without cushions at all. We didn’t buy ottomans, but I know you can purchase them.
I’m not sure that I’d put them on a front patio, but we love having the basic sling back chairs in the back yard. They’re comfortable, sturdy, don’t hold moisture, can easily be rinsed/washed off, and you can buy them in all kinds of colors if you want something fun. We also like that they can be easily stacked and stored.
Okay I ended up ordering these to try. I’ll see if they are quick dry (they claim to be sunbrella quick dry. I got 4 chairs and 2 ottomans. Also brown metal so I hope low maintenance (I love our teak dining set but it takes work!). We can’t do a coffee table because we bring out the solo stove. I did get this beautiful side table to go between 2 chairs!
Update: we love these! The looks is great, super comfy, and dry very fast. Our patio is blue slate so in person it pulls out a lot of blue. The ottomans float around but definitely glad we just have 2 and not 4. The Anthro side table is not my fave function wise — the top dips in the middle so water collects and has to be dumped all the time. But it’s really pretty so I will keep it! We had major issues getting the cushion covers in from HD, but glad I persisted! I think they are a great dupe to the Ballard / Frontgate sets I wanted that were 4x more expensive.
