I saw a dermatologist 5 months ago for hormonal acne. I found a complicated cocktail of 4 RXs that have cleared my skin (BCP, spironolactone, tretinoin, clindamycin/BPO). I have a basic routine. My skin is clear but red. It’s no longer tret-related irritation. It’s like the color of my skin went from super white to pink-red. What skincare products should I look for? I am SO NERVOUS to rock the boat with my acne though. Like, I thought about a different moisturizer and I was like “but what if it breaks me out?!?” Thoughts? Routines below.
Is there alcohol in any of the formulations? I think it might've been a clindamycin gel I had before had benzyl alcohol or denatured alcohol in it and it was making me really red. I'd honestly probably go back to the dermatologist and ask for help.

The clinda/BPO is a gel so I assume it has alcohol in it. That was the last piece of the puzzle in getting clear skin so I don’t want to give it up. But I can ask if there’s a cream formulation.

Or there might be a different gel formulation without or with less alcohol. When I was using it before (when coming off birth control) my doctor saw how red it was making me, even though it was helping, and switched me right away. I don't know if that's the answer for you, but I figure it's worth asking your derm about.

Snail. I have rosacea and it really helps with healing when my skin gets a bit more red (which happens with alcohol, heat, spice, using certain products on my face). I use the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. I notice when I don't use it for a few days.
I have rosacea. Years ago I used metrogel and it helped some. The best thing though is limit alcohol, make sure I get enough sleep, and drink more water than I think I need. So. LOL. I have just accepted flare ups and I love the IT bye bye redness for covering it up.

Sorry lurker butting in...Probably a dumb question, but are using sunscreen when you go out? My face is super sensitive to the sun since using the tretinoin. I wear a hat if I’m out for more than a few minutes.
