I’m struggling to decide between a flax-colored fabric Roman shade and a woven textured shade. Thoughts on the style / look of the two? Do you think woven shades are too trendy? Are fabric ones outdated? I think both are classic, but worry about long-term longevity.

I think woven shades have been around a long time and I wouldn't consider them trendy (if, by woven shades, you mean shades made from a natural material -like bamboo or similar). I am probably getting woven shades for our breakfast nook because it's like a fishbowl - no privacy with windows all around. It gets very hot and I want to block some sun. I say to get what you like. If you want an opinion, I like woven shades. I feel like fabric ones can be more formal looking.
I prefer woven bamboo shades. I like the texture they add to a room.
What room are you putting shades in? Do you have a pic?
At the end of the day though, I’d go with what you like best and what you want to look at every day.
Two bathrooms (half and full) and our bedroom. I was worried woven without a liner would be see through in the bathrooms though and was hoping to go cheap in there!

We have woven shades...I love how they look when the light filters through the unlined ones (DH insisted on lined ones in the bedroom). I worry that a light-colored fabric would get dusty/dirty and be impossible to even wipe down without smearing.
