Step 1 in our kitchen renovation happened today.

It's traditional in England to have your washer/dryer in your kitchen. I don't have a problem with it but we had an extra closet on the 2nd floor (we call it the 1st floor in the UK) that had cold water and a waste pipe going through it...so, we decided to move the washer and dryer into the closet and stack it. We'll have to get something for laundry detergent storage on the door as it's a tight fit in there and my MIL can't reach beyond the top of the dryer (she's tiny).

Step 2 of demolition may begin tomorrow - our fitter is going to be arriving tomorrow morning.

I'm currently doing a load and it's not super insane loud, which is good, as it's not too far from my MIL's bedroom.

(note, despite Samsung being seen as awful in the US, their products are highly rated over here - maybe something about EU regulations?)
