I've been reading a lot of YA books, playing SimCity BuildIt, FB videos (which.. I need to do less of), and made it through the entire first season of The Great. I'm not a big TV watcher, so that was impressive.
I read. A lot. I’ve been playing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp with my kids. And when I’m doing well, I use Headspace. I’ve been watching Jane the Virgin at night, and it’s really fun.
I color and re-watch The West Wing or The Great British Bake Off for the millionth time. I just haven't been able to get myself invested in a new show recently, so I fall back on those because it's predictable and doesn't require a lot of concentration. I color to keep my hands busy and not revert back to scrolling aimlessly on social media.
Yoga, read, go for a long walk or bike ride, Brene Brown's new podcast. DH and I started watching Alone and it's been interesting to watch them survive in horrible conditions and also bet on the winner.
If I’m trying to calm my mind and recenter a bit - walking, Music or a podcast, cooking/baking, sometimes crocheting.
If I’m trying to shut everything down in order to sleep, I use a white noise app that’s better than any sleeping elixir around for me. I can focus on the noise, and next think I know my alarm is going off. If I do happen to wake up during the night and my mind races again, I can refocus and go back to sleep.
Exercise. You wouldn’t know it by looking at me necessarily, but I need an hour of exercise a day. Preferably half cardio (even just power walking) and half weights/body weight stuff. My Dad and sister are the same way. I’ll go out of my way to find time for exercise even when life is otherwise crazy.
mae0111 I’m also addicted to white noise for sleep. I love my two little LectroFan machines.
Oh yeah.. I'm on my third round of piyo since this all started. I've never done the rounds back to back, but it's a nice way to start the day and have a forced schedule. It also keeps the neighborhood kids at their own houses on weekend mornings, since my kids know no one can come over until I've done my workout.
I love to read, I play Gardenscapes and Homescapes on the tablet while random stuff is on TV. I like to do the paint by number canvas crafts but they need too much concentration for me to do them right now.

I use TV as a distraction. For the couple first after my dad passed, DH (boyfriend and fiance at the time) was in medic school so my evenings were spent alone. After spending the daytime hours bouncing back and forth between being a college student and full blown grown up settling an estate/running a business, I zoned out watching TV. Soooo much TV (2 soaps, 4 or 5 prime time shows). It distracted me from my life and I needed it. I don't follow as many shows at one time and hoard them for off seasons, but I still use TV and am usually doing something else like folding laundry, browsing Pinterest, or working on a project.
