Keeping Deck/Patio Textiles Clean

Last summer I picked up a bunch of cute pillows and cushions for our deck furniture on clearance. I want to start using them on the deck, but the cushions that we just put out are already filthy thanks to nature 

/surprise rain and not something I want to sit on. ALREADY. How do you keep your patio/deck textiles clean? Do you only put them out when you want to use them and take them back in? Something else?

We also just got a hammock and I've started covering it with a tarp because it was soaking wet every time I wanted to use the damn thing.

I have a deck box that I put them every night or when it is going to rain. It has definitely kept them dry. I specifically got a set that didn't need a ton of fluffy cushions as I didn't have enough storage. Sometimes I sit on them without cushions at all.

We have a rope style hammock that dries pretty quickly. My patio cushions also don't hold water much, but I turn them to stand them up after rain and find they dry much more quickly than letting them laying flat. It's a good idea idea to have a nonpadded item to sit on as well (and I use those chairs to lay out the throw pillows for easy drying).

As for cleaning, I clean my screened porch cushions every 2-3 years with a watered down bleach solution. They're Sunbrella but bleach is the only thing that gets the black spots of mildew/mold out. Spot cleaning doesn't do much. I will brush them off or vacuum them once in a while too.

We have a deck box to store the cushions unless we are using them.

I struggled with my Target sets and always had to store cushions, pressure wash, etc. Now I buy sunbrella quick dry cushions only — they dry super fast and clean very nicely with just a damp rag.

We keep ours outside most of the time. they're sunbrella fabric cushions. We have a little shed that we put them in if we know it's going to be a rainy couple of days but we usually don't worry about it. bird poop is the only thing that really gets on them and we just wipe that off with a soapy rag.

We have a deck box for the cushions if we know it’s going to rain. Otherwise, we keep them out and brush them off as needed. When it’s not so hot, our sectional is our dog’s favorite spot to hang out.
