"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

There's a little bit of closure with her family, but not a lot. Basically, without spoilers, her family was the result of deep abuse and deep dysfunction as a result.
I fucking hated that book. I had a 5 year old when I was reading it and imagining him being abandoned in a swamp to fend for himself meant I couldn’t enjoy the book.
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
There were some explanations at the end, but they tried to leave it a bit open and not tie up everything. I too got bogged down in the middle and had to skim a bit.
I also loved it when I was reading it, but felt wtf at the end. I do recommend it to others, so I think the closure and ending met that need. Just seemed a bit out there when you looked back.

I loved the book, was hooked at the beginning and couldn’t put it down. One of those type of books that is why I love reading. I read it before the hype though, which helped me have zero expectations.

I have a friend who was super mad at the ending and I understand why, but I liked it. I also liked the symbolism of the cat.
I had to skim the ending because I just didn’t care after a while. It was too long and wordy for me.
I excel at wordy. Besides, what else have I had to do stuck in a foreign country with shelter in place and serve insomnia?
So i didn't notice the length or wordiness, but I realize I'm the weird one here. Only heart of darkness made me think he could have used about 60% fewer words. I like long character driven stories.
So, yes, stone things get answered. Njoy everything. Satisfying is the right word.
