Our sunroom has beautiful blue slate floors. We are installing some floor to ceiling cabinetry as there is our back exterior door where we enter/exit. I am at a loss for cabinet colors. I was planning on a dark moody navy (FB Hague Blue), but worried it was too dark, especially with the floors. The little sliver of direct light is all the room gets, and only the morning (most windows face east). I thought that would be too dark and was leaning towards FB Stiffkey Blue instead and I think it looks horrible with the floors. I’m not sure if I should go back to dark navy, go with white (rest of the cabinets BM White Dove in the house), or maybe a light grey instead. The rest of our furniture was just delivered to give you an idea of what else is in the room, as well as some cabinet inspo pics. Thank you!!

I think you can still go with navy blue (maybe get a paint sampler to see how it would look - paint a big piece of paper and put it on the wall). If that doesn't work, I'd go with a pale to medium grey, as it'll go quite nicely in there too.

I did a bunch of navy samples and they seemed really dark! But most of my house is super light so it could just be what I’m used to.
I would go with either white or a wood finish. I love, love, love both of your blue inspirations, but I feel like getting one that complements the slate and doesn't blend into it would be a task beyond my personal skill set, and either the white or a wood finish would be a safer choice.
I know you mentioned light gray also, but I'm ignoring it. I think it will also be a tough task to get the right shade of gray to not look drab against the floors.
I would also do white. I'm thinking of slate as a replacement tile for our kitchen and I really like the look. Unrelated, where did you get your sideboard? I really like it.

I would match your trim color for the cabinets. I think it'll give them more of s built-in look.
Also, if you look at the chaise you have in that room, it works because you have contrast between it and the rug it's on. If it wasn't on the rug it would blend in with the floor. I think the same would happen with your cabinets if you paint them navy.
What color is that blue on the walls? Could you go with a shade a little darker than that, but not quite navy? Or what about a mushroom greige-type color?

The walls are actually BM China White. I think the blue-grey of the floor reflects onto the wall.

Check out SW Smokey Blue. Might give you the blue you were hoping for but a little less dark, and would look great with the slate floors!
