I'm back in the hospital
I noticed a swelling in my arm that turned out not to be anything but did reveal along with it high blood pressure and elevated labs showing liver inflammation
I completed the 24 hours of magnesium and now in 24 hours of monitoring and hopefully going home today
But I need to know more...I don't completely understand what is happening and outside of hospital monitoring how will I know if anything scary is going on ...any good resources
Sorry you're back in the hospital with PP pre-e. I'm glad you have already complete your magnesium. First of all, I would absolutely be asking the nurses and your physician all your questions until you are satisfied that you understand. It is their job to help you understand your condition. I would start keeping a list so you remember your questions (I tend to forget them in the moment).
The rest really just depends on your particular case. PP pre-e warning signs are usually the same as prenatal pre-e. You'll likely be on a blood pressure medication for a while (probably months) and continue home BP monitoring. You may or may not be on baby aspirin. Your provider may want to see you a few times (at least, I hope he/she does) other than the 6 week checkup.
