We Demo’d our front yard earlier this summer and then it got hot so we didn’t plant anything we had planned. Finally turned the corner towards fall with some cooler weather Saturday. We planted our Red Oak and I am so excited!! It was more work than I expected but we love it. Never thought I’d be so excited about planting a tree. That plus the cooler weather was good for my mental health.
Now for the rest of the plantings (fingers crossed I can find some of them late I’m the season.
We got hit by the derecho and lost (or will lose) almost every tree on our lot. It’s heartbreaking...but at the same time, I’m excited to think of getting to plant new trees! It’s a bit overwhelming to decide what to plant, though!
It’s currently in the 90s here. By midnight it will be snowing and the high tomorrow is in the 30’s. Any recommendations to protect this tree from the shock and freeze? We’ve watered it deeply.
