Thanks to everyone who weighed in on my designer question from a couple of weeks ago. We met with the second designer today to see her design and absolutely fell in love with it. My husband is also feeling that having only one person to deal with for everything will be a lot easier to take at this point in our lives. Now we are trying to narrow down our choices of appliances, since we will need to order within the next month if we want a chance to have them by the time we need them (looking at late December, early January to start the project). We've settled on the range, refrigerator, and microwave, but are stuck on the dishwasher.
We are looking at the Bosch, and really like the features, especially the third tray. Is there anything out there comparable to it, but maybe a little cheaper? We really want something that will be quiet, as our kitchen/dining area is wide open to our living room. Do any of you have a different brand that you would recommend?

We got our Bosch about 8 years ago and it only has 2 trays. If I recall, the one we got was the cheapest they had (I want to say $800 but my memory stinks) and it still works great and is super quiet. I will definitely buy another one. At our old house the dishwasher was so loud we couldn't watch TV while it was running.
We picked out a Bosch.. and found out, you're not getting a Bosch anytime soon. Which is maybe okay with your timeline. They're back ordered everywhere because of coronavirus. The appliance store by us said HOPEFULLY at the end of the year, but maybe in Q1.
We just got a Miele installed today. I obviously can't speak much about it yet, but I was able to load SO MUCH MORE into it than I could our old dishwasher.
The GE at our old house we got at Costco for ~$800 and it had a third row, and I thought it was great.

We have a Miele, installed in March and really like so far. Very very quiet, my husband opens it while running at least 2-3 times/week! Hoping he gets used to it soon!

Yikes! The salesman helping us today did say that GE was much farther ahead of other companies, with them maybe being caught up on backorders sometime in November. I am guessing that we won't be at the appliance stage until maybe late January/early February, if we are lucky, so hopefully we won't be waiting too long for things.

We're getting a Bosch. Note that right now, they are WAY behind in production, so there is definitely a wait. Order ASAP. The kitchen company ordered ours in May and still haven't gotten it (hoping for this month). Bosch is known as a very reliable brand in England.

Meile is the MOST respected brand in England but it's also more expensive than Bosch. We decided it wasn't where we wanted to put our money (we upped our brand in our ovens and stovetop).
I’m in Canada. We’ve had two Kichenaid dishwashers with the third rack between two houses. The first one lasted 5 years with no issues. We’ve only had this second one for a year but it’s been very good to us as well. No complaints and the prices were decent.

If it helps, I like our Bosch but I don't LOVE it. It's especially awkward to load bigger items, like tupperware -- you can only load one or two deeper tupperware per load since they have to go on the very back of the bottom row to fit between the tines. Smaller tupperware *has* to go on the top or they flip over and fill with water. It leaves wet puddles and condensation in all the plastic stuff because of the way it dries without direct heat. So, for example, we use water bottles a lot, so I have to have a dishcloth on the counter and upend all the water bottles onto that and let the bottoms dry out while I unload the rest. Some of the mugs also end up with a puddle on top. The buttons are on the top edge, so my husband and son seem to accidentally press things while opening and closing it that I have to turn the dishwasher off and on again to fix -- just pressing "Santize" when it's pressed doesn't turn it back off. If you accidentally hit "Delay" you have to cycle through 24 hours to start it immediately, and it goes faster the longer you hold it so a lot of times you miss it and have to go all the way around again. It *is* very quiet, and I do love the silverware tray, but I think you could find those features elsewhere. I don't think any dishwasher is perfect, but most of my kitchen purchases I absolutely love, and this one was just kind of....meh.
When we redo our kitchen some day, I'm planning on getting a Fisher and Paykel. Our "main" dishwasher will be the two drawers and then we'll also have a second single drawer dishwasher likely in the new pantry since we already have plumbing there. We host a lot of parties and events (pre-covid obviously) and having a second dishwasher is my dream They are a bit more than Bosch, but they are very highly rated.

This has been my experience with Bosch too. We’ve had ours for ~7 years and have had to repair it twice. I do really like the third rack though!
We've had a Miele (with salt filter and 3rd tray) since 2012 (2013???) and love it. It's quiet, it cleans things even if they look like the site of a massacre when I drop them in. Some of the models do tend to be more expensive than Bosch, but not all. I'd definitely check them out if you have a showroom near you.

This is kind of where we are at about the Bosch. Do I really want to spend that much money on a dishwasher, even though I know how good it is? As it is, I have already decided against the induction range because as much as it would be nice to have it, it doesn't make sense for us right now.

We have a Kitchenaid right now, and it has done very well for us for the last 14 years. I may have to look into this brand again.

I don't remember induction ranges being any more expensive than most gas ranges when we shopped for them a couple of years ago. Has that changed?
To answer the original post, we've had Bosch dishwashers in both houses we've owned and have been very happy with them overall. That said, Mieles are known to be great, too, and I've heard good things about KitchenAid.

We would be getting an electric range. There’s about $1000 difference between the 2 we were looking at.
All 3 of those brands seem to be about the same price, so we’ll probably end up with the Bosch. Until I start second-guessing myself, which I find myself doing a lot already in this process.
My Kitchenaid is ridiculously quiet - I really can’t hear it at all when it runs. I think most newer dishwashers are pretty quiet by now. I didn’t get the Bosch because I really wanted the option to have heat dry.
Also, don’t forget to account/consider whether you want a handle that projects out from the counter in that area or something flush or recessed from the counter.
I wasn't impressed by Bosch when we were shopping this spring. Their lower tier series feel really cheap for the price- they don't even have a stainless tub in the 100 series- and I really didn't like the crappy push button controls on these or the strange "infolight" cycle indicator that lights the floor. They are much nicer builds in the 800+, but, I couldn't justify the price points when other brands had similar builds- for a lot less. All moot, since you can't just "get the Bosch" right now, anyway, of course- appliance purchases in general are really difficult in these times.
We ultimately ended up with an LG (and we absolutely love it). We came really close to several GEs, and liked the specs on some of the Kitchenaids (Whirlpool) a lot. It sounds ridiculous, but, when the features, specs and reviews are so close- a lot of it comes down to personal taste (regarding finish, handles, control locations).
If you really want to go down a rabbit hole, there's a lot of detailed information on repair rates and spec comparisons on various appliance store blogs.

Thanks for these suggestions. I wish we had a Costco - I have heard so many amazing things about it. As for the handle, our dishwasher will be in a high traffic spot, so we don't want anything sticking out.

I've been doing nothing but research since we at the appliance store the other day. Thanks for the idea of looking at blogs - I never thought of that. I've been reading customer reviews and looking at Consumer Reports, but this will definitely help, too.
