My DS is turning two next month and I'm getting the (very appreciated) "What does DS1 need?" line of questioning. And fun fact: I (again) have absolutely no idea.
Any suggestions? What were must haves for your two-year-olds?

My DS has been all about vehicles since he was 10 months old (construction vehicles in particular since roughly 2). The biggest hit for his 2nd birthday was the green toys car carrier. He also started to get into duplos then too.
ETA: my H purchased this cheap construction car carrier full of construction vehicles off Amazon. DS played with that thing for a solid 2 hours straight the day he got it.
MagnaTiles, MagnaTiles and more MagnaTiles. Both of my kiddos started playing with them shortly before turning 2, and they’re still a favorite toy at 8 and 4 now.
This has been a huge hit with my kids, and my niece loved ours so much my mom just bought her one for her second birthday. Someone here recommended it.

My 2-year old loves: toy shopping cart construction vehicles trucks toy dinosaurs Melissa and Doug slice and bake cookie set play kitchen tools and tool bench
Magnatiles Lincoln logs Wooden tracks and trains Duplo vehicles and trains/tracks Inflatable jump house Puzzles Kinetic sand Water table Dress up clothes Vtech gogo cars and tracks Balance bike Scooter Pedal tractor with trailer Books books books and more books 😊
Balance bike Scooter Helmet Matchbox cars Wooden train set Magnatiles Puzzles Art supplies (stickers, foam shapes, paint, markers, glue sticks, feathers, etc) Large trucks with figurines (fire truck with firefighters, garbage truck etc) Little people play sets
Things we don’t have but I want: Nugget couch Pop up tent / tunnel A sensory swing if we had a tree large enough to support it
Someone just gave DS the Elsa Ice Palace Little People set and he LOVES it. We have a bunch of other Little People Sets (a house, a barn, a camper, and a truck) so he's into those.
A ride along car or trike A foam couch from Wayfair A toy grill and a toy campfire from the Disney Store. Anything that makes noise Those electronic books with the little squares. He particularly likes the Baby Shark one because it plays a lot of nursery rhymes he knows. Books in general.

I ask this question a few weeks ago, and the most popular answer was the Melissa and Doug Ice cream set. I ended up getting the cookie set, and the gift recipient seemed to like it.
