Refi process and asking for more money

My cash out refinance just went to underwriting. I met with a kitchen Reno place and would like to ask for 10k more cash out. What are the chances I can make this happen. Is it too late to ask for more?
Is it better to wait until after underwriting to request more?

I would ask for it now. Otherwise it may have to go back thru underwriting if the loan to value changes and/or that requires a rate change
