17 weeks, team blue. Some people on my month board have had their sneak peek end up being wrong and now I'm mildly concerned. Three more weeks until the anatomy scan.
2. Rants, raves, feelings?
I had a burst of energy early last week and then was exhausted Friday/Saturday. Otherwise, feeling ok. I'm starting to feel small bits of movement which is awesome.
3. Have you started figuring out what the holidays are going to look like for you given travel advisories, family considerations, etc?
Thanksgiving is coming up quick here, but it will be very low key. We're not huge thanksgiving people to begin with, but we'll probably just do a dinner with MIL and possibly SFIL depending on how he's feeling (he's terminal and bad days are starting to eclipse good ones). My dad/SM will be closing up their trailer that weekend. My brother and SIL are FINALLY taking a turn and hosting Christmas. We may do a dinner with MIL and again possibly SFIL depending on his health, but it would be scheduled before anything else to make sure he's exposed to as few people as possible.
4. What have you been craving lately?
Grapefruit. Which I shouldn't eat since it's so high in sugars. Damn GD. I can mix small amounts of grapefruit juice with carbonated water so I'm enjoying that a few times a week. Also peaches and pancakes. Basically all the things I shouldn't have.
We had a really nice weekend. We met with some friends on Saturday and took some family pictures for one another (though DD is 2 so we only got 1 or 2 good ones, lol) and went to our favorite arboretum on Sunday for some family time. Last week and this week are crazy at work so it was a nice break. I'm trying to get DH to take a day off with me next week so we can take DD to the apple orchard/pumpkin patch in the morning - it's insane on the weekends so it's nice to go mid-week when no on is there. Plus, apple and pumpkin donuts, yummm!
3. Have you started figuring out what the holidays are going to look like for you given travel advisories, family considerations, etc?
All our immediate family is local and we've been seeing my parents and sister regularly and I don't see that changing over the holidays, especially because DD1 will stay with my parents in January while DH and I go to the hospital to have DD2. We don't usually see much of DH's family so we'll see how everyone feels as we get closer. We usually do Thanksgiving at my parent's house and get together with his family on Friday with the host changing. We host Christmas with my family on Christmas Eve and see his family on Christmas Day. It's nice to be close to each other and for our families to have naturally fallen into predictable schedules for the holidays.
4. What have you been craving lately?
I don't usually like sweets but I craved and ate desserts and sweet junk with DD1. With DD2, I didn't have much of an appetite for awhile and my cravings have come and gone but recently I've been craving more and more sweets. It's so weird for me but apparently that's my pregnancy thing. Eating all the oreos!
achi, I for sure thought my early gender test was wrong this time so I made double sure at my ultrasound, lol! It was right but the ultrasound tech said that she has seen people be shocked that it can be wrong!

1. 34+1 team blue
2. Still just tired. I’m at that point where I just don’t sleep well even though I’m really drained, and I rarely have a chance to catch a nap. But really I’m just focused on getting to Thursday- knock on wood, I don’t see any reason why I should go into labor this early, but as long as baby is born in the new government fiscal year (which starts 10/1), DH will get 12 weeks of paid leave.
3. UGH the family travel is the worst. We’ve already told everyone we aren’t going anywhere for Christmas. Our families are both in the same New England state and we usually go up for Christmas. My real concern is that everyone wants to come here to meet baby, and I’m paranoid about covid. I think they are more at risk coming here given our rates are higher than theirs, but it’s a source of much anxiety for me. And I generally don’t love pissing people off and I know I’m going to.
4. I’ve eaten SO MUCH cereal this pregnancy. With DD it was chips ahoy cookies 😂

COVID definitely makes everything complicated. It's such an unusual situation that I think now more than ever you're within your rights to say no visitors/only 1 per week/whatever your comfort level is. People are just going to have to get over it.
Thankfully all of our family is local so we don't have to worry about people flying in or wanting to stay with us. The repeat c-section and no hospital visitors in maternity means we'll have a few days of uninterrupted time which I'm really looking forward to. With DS1 I was very non-chalant about visitors and naive about how much of toll it would take on me to have see so many people in a short amount of time. This time I'm putting my foot down.

1. How far along are you? Team? 22+4, DS2
2. Rants, raves, feelings? I've still been feeling pretty down overall, but DH and I spent yesterday working in our downstairs guest room getting it ready to be a playroom and made amazing headway. I think I'm taking tomorrow afternoon off to work in the nursery, too. Making progress was helpful for me mentally.
I also finally gave my best friend the ok to do a small virtual something for me for this kiddo. She's over the moon, and I think it'll help me get out of my funk to do something to celebrate this little guy, too.
3. Have you started figuring out what the holidays are going to look like for you given travel advisories, family considerations, etc? We don't travel for the holidays anyway anymore -- people come to us. I'm sad about not being able to have our big Thanksgiving with friends and family (we usually have ~20ppl), but Christmas is never that big. Our immediate families are in our bubble, so we'll still see our moms/my brother/a few others for those occasions.
4. What have you been craving lately? I've been moody and in the dumps, lol, so all I've wanted is sweets.
achi -- I hope you keep getting more energy as the weeks go on!
corgimom -- The pumpkin patch and apple orchard sound so fun!
tacoflavoredkisses -- Ugh, I haven't even started thinking about people coming to visit the baby. It's going to be a nightmare. I share your concern about pissing people off. You just have to do what's best for you and your family. Trust your gut.

lovesherheels the hardest part is my parents live paycheck to paycheck and I know my mom can’t afford to take time off to quarantine before (or after for that matter). I don’t even want to ask that. On the flip side, my ILs have the ability to quarantine, but it doesn’t feel fair to let them come and keep my mom away.
All I do know is NO ONE is coming for the first week after kiddo comes. I want to just be here with our little family and soak it in.
