I got a notice for jury duty for King County Superior Court later this month.
I have no clue what the likelihood is that I'll be chosen, but I don't currently have any reason to defer, so I'd rather just do it and get it over with if I'm selected.
That said, I have no idea what I'm suppose to wear. I found a courts.wa.gov FAQ that says this: What should I wear?
Dress comfortably. Suits, ties and other, more formal wear are not necessary. But don't get too informal -- beach wear, shorts, halter or tank tops are not appropriate in court. Hats may not be allowed unless worn for religious or medical purposes.
But that's really not very informative, particularly when the "Here's how we're handling Covid" video has all the women wearing skirts/dresses (think like, Land's End, which to be honest, is the type of dress I wore to my last outdoor summer wedding).
I do have nicer tops, but I don't own dress pants, like, at all (at least not any that fit). I also don't have any fall/winter appropriate skirts (they are all light weight & summery, or athletic style).
If you've done this, tell me what you wore, or saw other people wearing, because I really don't want to have to buy clothes for this.

I live in jeans, so I just wear jeans and a decent top (sweater or blouse, even a nice t-shirt, depending on season). I live in a pretty rural/redneck county, but still, don't overthink it.
If you usually wear skirts or pants/slacks, that's fine. If you usually wear jeans, great.
Just don't show up grubby or like you're headed to the beach and you should be fine.
I've been selected to be on the jury twice, even though I come from a family of cops (and the judges knew my dad, who used to be a sheriff).

I have lots of (now-retired) cops in my family too. My mom got chosen for jury duty all the time when I was kid even though my dad was one of the town cops and she knew basically all the lawyers in town.
I would wear a nicer shirt and jeans. Most people do when I’ve had it. I wear dresses but I don’t own pants.
I’ve seen plenty of people in jerseys/sweats and once pajamas and no one ever seems to say anything to them though.
As long as you look clean and neat I think you’d be fine.
Decent, non-grubby jeans I can do. When I still worked I wore jeans 90% of the time (the rest of the time was shorts and peasant skirts). But I've been living in loungewear since I left the workforce ~6 years ago, except when grocery shopping, and I had no idea if jeans were OK or not.

At our county courthouse, jeans are not allowed. I'm not sure what they'd do if you showed up in jeans. Maybe I'll try that next time and see if the send me home. I suggest layers though! There's such a wide range of what people consider comfortable. You don't want to be stuck there sweating or freezing.

I always dress in layers.
I'm hoping I don't have to go in at all. The notice I got very explicitly says not to go anywhere unless told to by a judge or bailiff, and the info on the jury portal said they were doing voir dire via Zoom in most cases (and from what I know about jury duty there's a solid change I don't even make it that far).
I would think if jeans weren't allowed they'd say say on the little FAQ, but my experience with the courts in WA is basically non-existent which is why I asked here.

I just realized you're in WA. Yeah, jeans are absolutely fine. Not sure where you're from, but you've probably noticed we're all pretty casual in the PNW. I've seen jeans worn to an opera, and shorts worn to live theater.

I’m more of a business casual type person but this is Seattle where folks wear jeans to the ballet and the Paramount. I wore business casual when I was on jury duty, but I was a paralegal also working during breaks since we were a block from the courthouse. I am also married to an attorney so I tended to be one step up and dressed as if I was headed to the office or the courthouse for business. lol.
I’m sure clean jeans and a nice top and sweater will be more than acceptable. The dress code was clean, no rips or tears when I had jury duty. They want you there. That’s the important thing. Also, to strict a dress code can disenfranchise some so they aren’t going to kick up a huge fuss. If you can’t be underdressed for the opera in jeans, you won’t be for jury duty.

Me? I'm originally from Oregon, but I've lived in the Puget Sound area for nearly 20 years. I know we're super casual here, although I've never been to the opera, and I try to dress up a little bit when we go to the Paramount, just because it's a fun excuse to be fancy.
I've had jury duty twice at King County Regional Justice Center in Kent. Jeans are totally fine! I wore a long sleeve t-shirt (like plain jcrew) and a lightweight jacket both times. You will be sitting a lot so you will want to be comfortable.
