I had an open lap (vertical incision so there was no escaping it) in the middle of February when I lived in Chicago. I wore maxi dresses for a couple months - tried to winterize them with boots and a scarf or sweater
So I have never had an incision, but these joggers are super comfy. Very lightweight fabric. Roomy in the lower ab area. I am short so mine are baggy but I did pull them up higher so they were not as long. So you don't have to wear them at the waist. They kind of feel like pajamas.
I wore compression leggings for months (whenever I was not at work after 8 weeks post-op). When I went back to work, I wore ridiculous high-waisted granny panties under high waisted jeans / pants. That was about 8 weeks into healing and I was fine by then.
I found some tunics on DHs side of the closet and I’ll just get some long leggings to go with them for the fall. Maybe the ON jeggings will be super soft and let me feel a bit more put together .
I used soft, stretchy cotton jersey athletic pants with elastic waistbands after all my hip surgeries. They were easy to stretch out and pull over the incision, and could account for the swelling after surgery. They were also comfortable enough to sleep in as my sleeping patterns were all screwed up.

After my c/s I lived in high waisted compression leggings. Honestly, it's been almost 3 years and I'm still most comfortable wearing items that are high waisted and tight.

I was honestly debating buying some postpartum compression leggings.
