Dear School, I appreciate that you are taking things seriously but I’m annoyed that ds will be out of school 3 days and have to get a clear Covid test to return because he has a runny nose. I get it but I hate that this is the word we live in now.
Sad mom who now has to supervise a 4yo while working.
Dear DH If you are going to go to bed early (before me at 9pm) then you must go to sleep. I stayed up late to allow you to go to sleep the last 2 nights and you are still tossing and turning which then I can't go to sleep. I know you are tired but going to bed shortly after 8 and then tossing and turning for hours isn't helping. I prefer to go to bed around 9pm and can be out within minutes if you aren't tossing and turning in bed. PS I think you finally fell asleep around midnight last night Tired me
Dear DD & the Gym DD, I'm glad you had a Rockstar practice last night and you impressed both coaches on different events. Its great you have a front layout and now can hold your beam dismount for 5 gymnastics before twisting off but I wish your coaches would have you work on the skills you need by the Friday deadline. Not that I don't love seeing the smile that goes from ear to ear after practice. Confused Gym Mom

Dear potential attorney, Please take my case. I'm down to the wire before my settlement conference and I don't want to go with the almost $600/hr attorney. Signed, Getting my hopes up
Dear younger brother, You stooped to a new level of low. The little bit of respect I still had for you is gone. Signed, Disappointed sister.
Dear daughters, Omg the attitude lately! You didn't tantrum as toddlers but it's coming in full force for these tween years I guess. Are you even tweens yet? Who knows. But today I got "If you were a good mom you would let us," "I like dad's house better," and "worst mom ever." You've been back with me for 4 hours. I haven't had a drink since July, but you're pushing me! Signed, Mom
Wow that must be some throat infection to be out the whole week. At least it’s not Covid. I’ve had to work from home while monitoring elearning and working in person some evenings. It was ..... not fun. By Tuesday it felt like it had been 2 weeks.
I also finally hired someone (had a minor plot twist, but hopefully it will work out), did some of my actual work and am managing a total revamp for the board.
Glad to have you back next week!
Signed, Tired
Dear DH,
Wow real food from a nice restaurant. What is that?
Signed, Enchiladas come to momma
Dear Outschool class,
You were pretty good. Do you think my kids will remember anything they learned? It was a safety / first aid class since when DH twisted his ankle they ignored him writhing in pain on the ground while they laughed for 3 minutes. So obviously they need a refresher on being human beings to start with.
Signed, mom who hopes that one day the things I tell them 8 billion times will actually sink in

Sorry, but that last one cracked me up
Dear Students,
It was so nice to see you smile and laugh today in class. We had fun! Let’s make this a habit, shall we?
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
Asking jurors to serve for TWO MONTHS is flipping ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as reading jury instructions for 1 hour and 7 minutes. ONE HOUR AND 7 MINUTES.
I get it that being 6 and being told not to run and jump until you get your cast off is hard. But seriously, can’t you just walk? I appreciate your adherence to the letter of the law by now side-galloping everywhere. It’s not technically running or jumping. But omg you are going to fall on your arm again. Just WALK.
Omg I remember this with DD2 / broken wrist at age 5.5... she just never stops moving... I remember yelling, “STOP IT! THAT’S HOW YOU WOUND UP IN A CAST IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! DO YOU WANT TWO CASTS???” I feel your pain. Hopefully you’re starting to count down the days until removal... DD2’s favorite part was when I told her that he hand would smell like a foot. Got us through the scary saw.
