I posted an article (probably dozens of pages back at this point) which said it would be almost impossible for him to win in court. He would need to invalidate tens of thousands of votes in SO MANY states. And there’s overwhelming precedent — particularly from GOP-appointed courts — that says state have full power to regulate their own elections.

That scares me a bit (because it IS scary — those people are unhinged) but I’ll just trust in the strength of our democracy right now. He’s 99.9% bluster and tantrums, and the vast majority of his supporters will grumble but ultimately move on.

So I think we can celebrate for now. 😀

Right. He is absolutely attempting autocratic takeover. He sucks at it and will not succeed. So, we can celebrate.


But 45 is and was absolutely aided by the antidemocratic electoral college, the Senate makeup that values land over people, and a morally bankrupt party. So we need to work HARD to get those 2 Georgia Senate seats and to flip state legislatures. Because there are too many that are R held and they're going to gerrymander the shit out of House districts. And continue to pass shitty laws that federal courts that have been stacked by McConnell will uphold.

Since Trump most certainly will not leave the traditional good luck letter to incoming President Biden on Inauguration Day, I think it’d be nice if the surviving ex-presidents each write him one.

As they are showing the parking lot outside in Wilmington, I had a “fuck” moment. I wish it has sunk in that Wilmington is only about 90 minutes away sometime about 4 hours ago. 🤬 My neighborhood is quiet. No celebrations. But the trump flags are down. I was at Obama’s last rally in 2008. I would love to be there now.

Honestly I remember feeling VERY scared for Obama's safety when he was first elected too, though, and his team kept him safe for 8 years. I think the secret service must be pretty amazing these days.

For real. H and I actually briefly talked about driving up there today, but decided against it because we weren't really sure how it works logistically (like can anyone just show up? There must be a limit to how many can enter) and we wanted to be able to actually watch and not just end up stuck in traffic somewhere far away. But I would love to be there!

I pointed out to MH that the cars are all red, white, and blue and we wondered how they arranged that ... and then it occurred to us that the cars were likely provided by the campaign and do not belong to the audience members. Therefore they can’t sneak in explosives or whatever, and they don’t have the keys so they can’t spontaneously drive through the crowd.

I didn’t hear any such news about this, to be fair. But the fact that the cars are all red white and blue and look like they’re identical makes me think that they’re provided for the audience.


ETA: MH also pointed out that they look like Fords and Jeeps (from what we can see anyway), so it also makes sense that the campaign would provide all US made cars.
