What have you been reading this week?

In the fall/winter do you purposely pick up books that are set during the holidays/fall/winter?

I finished:
The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel, 4*
Class Mom by Laurie Gelman, 2.5*
And my son and I finally finished Skullduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy, 4*

I am currently reading My Dark Vanessa which is looking like it will be a quick read.

QOTW: I usually buy myself a Christmas book for St. Nicholas Day. This year I'll be getting In Holidaze by Christina Lauren. I also like to read the newest Inspector Gamache book around the holidays too.

I finished Writers & Lovers earlier in the week. Loved it. Then I read Sabrina & Corina: Stories. I’m not usually a short story reader but this was a good collection. Now I’m reading White Ivy. It’s got my attention. I’m kind of on the edge of my seat wondering where it’s headed.

QOTW: If I read anything holiday or season themed it’s by pure accident.

I read If I Had Your Face: 2 stars
Anxious People: 4 stars. I loved it but it ended just a smidge too perfectly.

I returned 5 ebooks unread. I’m just exhausted.

QOTW: no. I actually prefer to read about the warmth in the winter time lol.

I just finished listening to 28 summers
Reading Palisaides Park and I need to dive into the audio of the Vanishing Half, it came while I was listening to 28S, so I need to get through it before it gets returned.

I'm reading The Marriage Game by Sara Desai. It's a cute romance.

QOTW: I am awful at planning out my reading so I never have books available to read for any themes due to library hold limits and availability.

Trying to read Home Before Dark, I’m going with DNF on it at this point.

Currently reading: One to Watch. I love/hate this book so far. Awaiting final judgement when I finish.

QOTW: no, I don’t really even think about time of year in books unless it’s something that annoys me.

I'm still chipping away at "Leaving Time". I made good progress this weekend, but it could be a bit shorter (as with every Jodi Picolt).

QOTW: I don't like holiday books or movies, so other than re-reading A Walk to Remember (but no more Nicholas Sparks), no. I guess maybe winter as I don't want to think of it any other time. I'm more of a keep this book for summer, as I try to read lighter then.
