HOLY CRAP we`ve (sort of) reached viability. And I have at the very most 14 weeks left. I continue to feel well for the most part, but my pelvis is definitely achey and made worse if I lay on the couch too long in the evening. Laying in bed is fine, but getting off the couch is HARD.
MIL is moving and hired a junk truck for her and us since we needed to declutter some crap from the house and garage that had not made it to the dump yet. A friend of H who is in our bubble also came by late last week and helped H move the new glider and dresser up into the nursery. I was able to go through some boxes of baby stuff that we had been holding onto and start to figure out what odds and ends we still need. It finally feels like we are making some actual progress on the to do list.
3. Are you team turkey or team ham for big holiday meals?
Turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ham for easter.
4. How has this pregnancy been different than you expected? If you're a STM/TTM how has it been different than your other pregnancy/pregnancies?
I was tired and pukey for way longer than expected. Also, placenta previa was a surprise. Otherwise it`s been as expected to this point.
With DS I threw up every day until he was born. This time I seem to have mostly gotten that out of the way and am not sick on a daily basis which is a nice change. I was definitely exhausted for a lot longer. I was expecting GD again so no surprise there.
1. How far along are you? Team? 30w, 2d - Team Pink!
2. Rants, raves, feelings? I can't believe how far along I suddenly am! achi I totally feel you on the pelvic pain and how incredibly hard it is to get up from the couch, lol! It's been a big weekend! DH painted DD1's big girl room and we'll move her in this weekend. I'm home with her today for day 3 of potty training and it's going pretty well! I'm nervous about daycare tomorrow but I'm sure it'll be fine even if it takes a few days! My stepmom does home staging and owns a ton of furniture. She gave us two nice recliners yesterday so we have one in the playroom and one in the living room. They are sleek and go great with our stuff and as a bonus, it's easy to get up from!! Oh. And I put up the tree! ๐
3. Are you team turkey or team ham for big holiday meals? Turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas and Easter!
4. How has this pregnancy been different than you expected? If you're a STM/TTM how has it been different than your other pregnancy/pregnancies? This has been so different than my pregnancy with DD. I had nausea until 12 or 14 weeks this time and baby is measuring bigger, thus I am bigger and more uncomfortable.
Hi everyone! First week participating here this pregnancy.
1. How far along are you? Team? 17 weeks, having another boy.
2. Rants, raves, feelings? Feeling super relieved - got bloodwork back Saturday that shows I'm immune to Parvovirus B19 after my son was diagnosed with Fifth's Disease last week. That was a truly awful week-long wait reading about how devastating maternal infection can be to the baby.
3. Are you team turkey or team ham for big holiday meals? Ham or really anything else - not a big turkey fan
4. How has this pregnancy been different than you expected? If you're a STM/TTM how has it been different than your other pregnancy/pregnancies? This pregnancy has been harder than my first, physically and emotionally. I'm not sure how much of that is environment (pandemic restrictions, work stress), chasing a toddler, or just being 3 years older (seriously, my back/neck/hips feel broken).

1. How far along are you? Team? 7+2, green
2. Rants, raves, feelings? I had a 1 day reprieve of nausea yesterday so ate a ton but itโs back. ๐ญ i did make some proper Guyanese bread on Saturday and itโs all I can eat so Iโm thrilled. First time making bread!
3. Are you team turkey or team ham for big holiday meals? Turkey for TG and ham for Christmas with my in-laws.
4. How has this pregnancy been different than you expected? If you're a STM/TTM how has it been different than your other pregnancy/pregnancies? So much more nauseous than DS and it started super early too.
tacom - congrats on the pregnancy! I'm so glad you got good news about your Parovirus immunity. How is your son doing? I totally hear you about pregnancy kicking your ass at an older age. It's been more than 5 years since my son was born and the exhaustion until about 20 ish weeks was unreal.
I missed last week, but thank you for the warm welcomes!
1. How far along are you? Team? 10+2/green
2. Rants, raves, feelings? Tired, and a little bit of sick tummy, and cold!
3. Are you team turkey or team ham for big holiday meals? Turkey for thanksgiving/Christmas, ham for Easter
4. How has this pregnancy been different than you expected? If you're a STM/TTM how has it been different than your other pregnancy/pregnancies? Like everyone else, more tired this time, but clearly thereโs a lot more going on! Iโm also surprised how quickly I need to switch to maternity pants! Iโm short, so that doesnโt help, but today I undid the button on my work pants after lunch. I donโt know when I switched over last time, but I bet it was closer to 15-20 weeks, Iโm only at 10 but look (and feel) like I did at 20 weeks before Iโm worried about what 20 (and 40) will be like this time.
tacom , super excited to see you here! Totally random but I know your DS has a lot of allergy/fpies stuff. Do you worry about baby #2 being the same?
Excited to see you here too! congratulations.
yes, I absolutely worry. I try not to very much since it's outside of my control and something we won't know for another 11 or so months, but the worry will always be in the background.
I just checked your post history and saw you're just going through the initial diagnosis period with your son. In my experience, it gets easier and less scary, even if the allergies never go away (but hopefully they do!). You learn how to live with it and you stop thinking about all the "what ifs" and get to see how your kid manages in day to day life. For us, my son knows peanuts make him "sick" and understands when I tell him he can't have something (he remembers his last reaction in the clinic this summer). If he doesn't outgrow his FPIES, I believe he will be able to advocate strongly for himself by the time he's ready for more independence (I worried a lot about school, social events etc when he was an infant and worry less now that I can see him already adapt to his allergy at a very young age. It's all he knows!).

1. How far along are you? Team? 29+4, boy
2. Rants, raves, feelings? I don't know if I have much new here lol. I feel like a broken record of "sore, tired and cranky" so maybe I'll just let that be it, ha.
3. Are you team turkey or team ham for big holiday meals? Turkey. ALWAYS turkey.
4. How has this pregnancy been different than you expected? If you're a STM/TTM how has it been different than your other pregnancy/pregnancies? This pregnancy has been really different from my first. I was sick, I've been tired the whole time, my emotions have been completely out of whack. I didn't expect it to be as easy as my first one was -- I knew my pregnancy with DS1 was a breeze even in the moment -- but man, I'm ready for this one to be over.
1. How far along are you? Team? 23 weeks today, Team blue
2. Rants, raves, feelings? I am finally coming around to the idea that this might work out (cautiously and sure I'm jinxing something saying that.) I had an early loss back in March and I'm really surprised how much it's affected my mindset with this pregnancy. Fortunately we saved almost everything from our first (also a boy) so we don't need much, but all our gear is packed away in various corners of the house and I have no idea what we have or where it is.
I have my 24 week appointment on Monday and I'm nervous because this is where things started to get scary with my first pregnancy. I had high blood pressure at that appointment, which led to a whole bunch of tests that had some not-great results, which led to a ton of extra monitoring and it was just all very stressful. I've been checking my blood pressure at home and so far it's been good so hopefully it will be ok.
3. Are you team turkey or team ham for big holiday meals? Turkey, all the way
4. How has this pregnancy been different than you expected? If you're a STM/TTM how has it been different than your other pregnancy/pregnancies? I'm a STM and so far this one has been easier physically and harder emotionally.
katie80 congrats and welcome! I'm so sorry for your loss. PGAL (pregnancy after loss) is no joke and it is definitely an emotional rollercoaster. FX for a smooth ride until baby gets here.
